I just bought the Aerosoft CRJ addon from the MSFS Marketplace. I saw that the sim might hang. But its crashing. First on the loading screen when I selected a flight with the CRJ and the second time when I restarted the sim. Any idea how to solve this issue.
There are a lot of other posts about this. Quickest way to get going again is to delete the aerosoft-crj folder, which isn’t in the community folder but the Official\OneStore.
It seems that if you bought it from the Marketplace MS add encryption which uses an instruction set only available to the latest processors.
Aerosoft are aware of the issue but say it isn’t their problem because you bought it from the marketplace and their version from direct purchases work.
Asobo have been looking to fix this for the last two weeks
Once you downloaded it, did it go to the community folder or official>onestore ? I cant even start the sim man, it crashes before starting(with the crj). Now as I have deleted the CRJ the sim has started again.
When you download it, it gets installed in one of the packages folders (either Community or Official, not sure but I think in Official). Once you run it, it tries to create a folder one level up called aerosoft-crj.
If the sim is crashing trying to load it, you might have a corrupted download. I would remove all crj folders from your drive and try to download it again using the Content Manager in MSFS.
I’ve done this three times already due to moving my game install directory. It should be pretty easy.
We have been waiting for a fix for 3 weeks. You might be able to get a refund from Microsoft as you should be within the timescale, but yes they are saying that if you have an older CPU that does not have the benefit of the new command set, that has been used in the latest Microsoft update you won’t be able to run it until Asobo come up with a fix.
There is no solution to it at the moment, Aerosoft have identified the problem through crash dump files and made Asobo aware and they are working on it. It affects buyers from the marketplace but not direct from Aerosoft and those that have older CPU’s. MS encrypt the Aerosoft code and in the latest update (previous versions 1.02 were ok) use commands that only the latest CPU’s have access to. The MS version of the CRJ creates the startup files using this code/command set, whereas the Aerosoft pure code does it differently.
