Sim crashes after SU12

Spent my Sunday morning figuring out what causes the Simulator to crash all the time. DFW Alliance crashes the sim, take the DC3 to KOKC and after sitting idle for 20 minutes, the sim is unusable. It should have crashed. Looked nice during runup but not in climb phase. The 3 monitor setup crashes the simulator. The sound settings may or may not be what I had them set to. Getting into camera zoom to set it for the plane causes 3 monitor setup to crash the simulator. The mouse click on a button may or may not work the first time. It’s a new computer purchased just for MSFS2020 and the software has delivered nothing but issues today.

I’ve had very similar issues , my PC was bought brand new as well less than a year ago. A 3500 dollar unit that should be able to run my game perfect in 2K resolution as I’m only using 1 32” curved gaming monitor and it has become VERY unstable after SU12 i FINALLY had it running good after a month of playing with settings because months ago the game caused my SSD to fail when my Pc was only 6 months old. They had to install a fresh copy of windows 11 and i had major issues just getting the game to install. Finally had it running smooth enough and fairly stable then SU12 dropped and my Pc feels like it’s about to burn up another SSD. It’s really frustrating when you spend thousands just to enjoy a GAME. Then you have nothing but problems.

I tried it in safemode and it didn’t crash and then removed all my addons except for my JustFlight Piper and it didn’t crash until tonight. I landed at DFW Alliance and went to expand the ATC window to contact ground as I was taxiing and it crashed. Was fun while it lasted, but it makes me want to go back to boardgames. They don’t crash. I can see how addons might cause problems exspecially since anyone can setup and create and sale stuff at the click of a button, but do expect the $100 software to be more stable than what it is.

What if any add ons did you have installed?

For those having any CTD issue/s try the following…

Run the following commands in Powershell (admin rights)…

Go through each of the following steps one at a time. Copy each line, one at a time , paste it into the Dos window (crtl + V) and press return

and it will then run. Wait until each runs and finishes before you move on to the next one.

When you are completely finished, Restart your computer and then try to see in MS2020 will start and run properly

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore

Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

RESTART your computer as the last step. Then go for a test flight.

I removed the very few addons I did have and set all graphics settings to lowest and worked them up from there with a minimum frame rate of 30.

The graphics really needs some organization, catagories like general, near, far, clouds, and ground.

Then added questionable addons one at a time. I finally got something that looks pleasant and performs well. I guess the software will give the graphics card data without some kind of regulation. If the graphics card cant handle it, it just drops frames and goes until the RAM fills up and it fails.

The frame rate and RAM meters in debug are color coded to show efficiency of the hardware with selected graphics settings.

Now I have market place hogging the hard drive with 250 Gigs and I dont have but a few airports and a few 10 dollar planes.

After trying various things with the sim’s addons and graphics settings, I ran all of the console commands above and returned NO corruption with the system.
