Sim doesnt download weather

Hi,

is the Live weather working for you guys. I did a flight yesterdaay and it worked fine. But today Im getting only clear skies Any idea on this?

Seems like you’re the latest casualty of live weather stopping on you. Unfortunately, there’s no known way to get it back to working automatically once this happens.

There is a workaround, however. It’s explained in this video. Be sure to load the sim FRESH before doing this. If you try with the sim already running after Live Weather not working, this won’t work.

Workaround for Live Weather only on first flight: Video Edition

For many of us, Live Weather will only work on the first flight of a session. Subsequent flights will give up a temp of about 20C, wind 225/5. and 29.92 pressure with clear skies. A workaround for this is restarting the sim between each flight, but due to the long load times, this is a massive pain. Yeah. A lot of people (most, in fact) seem to have Live Weather working just fine. For some of us, it’s never worked beyond the first flight (I being one of those). And for others, it just refuses to work altogether.

This fix isn’t ideal, as you have to select Live Weather every flight after it’s loaded. As a result, you may get some really odd runway assignment to take off (down / cross wind) when another runway would have likely been a better option. But it will give you perfectly working weather through your entire flight every time as long as you don’t change its initial state.

If you do, then you have to restart the sim and go through that process again to re-initialize that clear state for the workaround to function again.
