Sim doesnt start after changing cpu

My sim doesnt start any more after changing the cpu (from Ryzen 5 2600 to Ryzen 7 5800X on a MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Motherboard with BIOS Version 2.H2 AMD AGESA ComboAM4vPI 1.2.0.7)

I changed the cpu on friday this week. The first test was successful. The sim works fine with above 50-60fps. I realized that the cooler is to small for the new cpu. I ordered a new cooler and changed it to a Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 cooler today (sunday). Now the temperature is max 75°C at 120W.

One weird thing happens after changig the cooler (today): A message appears after starting the computer, that the cpu was changed. But I just changed it on friday.

Now the sim doesnt start any more. After synchronizing datas the loading screen keeps black. Until now i tryed a lot of things: uninstall the sim and install it again, unlogging and reset the X-Box App, unlogging and reset the Microsoft Store app, restarting the computer serveral times.

Do somebody have some other proposal what i can do?

Here is a link to the checklist for the issue.
If you get through this list, there are links at the end to four additional lists:

have you checked that your new cooler is realy well mounted ? ( and that you nothing damaged while installing ? )

Did you some CPU tests ?

And, I forgot… I assum you mean the message from BIOS. So, also re-check BIOS settings.

Make sure the Time on your PC is correct …

Although the driver versions are possibly the same it could well be that you need to reinstall:

  • Your mainboard drivers from MSI
  • Your processor and your chipset drivers from AMD (2 separate downloads)

Visit your MS account and delete any obsolete devices
Check that Windows is activated and if not then do so, you shouldn’t need a new licence.

Hey, thank you all for your answers.

It was one of the folling apps: Voicemeeter potato, navigraph simlink, stream deck or tobii eytracker. I dont know which one.

I am downloading almost 100Gb updates right now (60% after 3,5h ). I can tell you which app msfs prevents to start. I guess voicemeeter potato.

Best regards,
Björn

Thank you so much for this. II just spent the afternoon on an upgrade and have spent an hour trying to get it running again. As soon as I fixed the time it worked!

Hello. When i use Voicemeeter, my simulator does not start… After 15 seconds i get an endless black screen, right before the Asobo logo would show up…

The Voicemeeter software blocks the loading of the simulator!!! :man_shrugging:t4::face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Did you got a solution gor for that?

Thanks!
