All - Thought sim was loading slow, so timed it today. Version 1.23.12.0 with all CM updated.
- Internet is about 15MBPM speed, which may have some relationship to this thread.
- 44 seconds before the “Asobo” screen shows up.
- 1.18 minutes/seconds before any real pictures show up of scenery.
- 1.38 Seconds/minutes before Checking for updates appears.
- 2.38 KB update took about 5 seconds to download and install.
- 2.36 minutes/seconds before progress bar at bottom of screen
- 4.50 minutes/seconds before I have main page showing world map.
My CF folder has 4 things in it. My PC Specs are as follows
ASUS Strix Scar III - 2 years old in March 2022, oh well end of month.
Intel I-7-9750 with 32GB System Ram
Nvidia RTX 2070 with 8GB ram.
1TB SSD primary C
1TB secondary D.
Using USB-C powered hub (output port is 10GB/s according to ASUS tech specs on my unit.
In that hub are Virpil Mongoose base, with VFX grip, HDMI 32" Samsung 1920x1080p monitor, Virpil Mongoose TM-3 Throttle Unit, 8TB USB Drive as backup, ASUS Claymore II Gaming Keyboard. using PC USB Slots are 1 each Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds + earbuds, charging only.
But something has changed in SIM, before update, temp of GPU was 84C average, with fans spinning at 6200RPM, system set to performance. Now same settings, FPS limited to 30, scenery on Medium for all. Temps are 58C, main window of game. Now I like the temp difference.
Two test flights one F-14 PMDY, significant right correction in JS to keep plane centered on RW. No Stutters. Landed pulled side RW. main menu, then freeware C-17, again, right stick to keep plane centered, landing was fine, slow taxi and saw some stutters, well not exactly, jittery would-be better term. No CTD’s, and so far, much cooler, good. Loading is about what it was when timed it last year. I do not VR so have no report. For me, it’ s working as well as before but like cooler GPU temps. Have and will do more experimenting this evening if time.
