AMD 6900xt and 5800x3d.
It also happens frequently for me (probably 50% of flights now) either:
- Freeze during flight (sometimes if I wait a minute it will come back but not usually)
- Freeze returning to main menu.
Only fix is to task manager kill the app.
I was away from simming for about 8 months and only recently restarted but this is happening frequently enough I’m considering taking another break from simming until this can be addressed. This never happened before (hundreds of hours of flights). I’ve tried everything including empty community folder (via addons linker).

It’s weird, after disabling live traffic I haven’t had the freeze. But I also don’t fly enough to claim that’s the solution. Before it would freeze every other flight, now I have done like 6 flights without issue in the past 1-2 weeks.
If this was a widespread issue there would be a lot more reports of this. So it’s gotta be something that only affects a few users.
Maybe NVIDIA driver? Maybe some missing windows 11 update or combination thereof?
I toned down part of the graphics and everything works fine now.
Which part of the graphics did you turn down?
I’m seeing this issue about 2x per month, and I fly a lot (retired). The blue bar locks up on return to the main menu, and I wait a very long time to see if it will resolve. I forced a coredump in the Task Manager which I can provide if you are interested.
I suspect this issue might not be my NVidia driver. I’ve had the issue several times since I started using the simulator, haven’t seen a pattern, but I regularly update my drivers on my graphics card. I’ll try dialing back on some of the simulation per the above comments.
Ive seen it happen for me in analog and glass pits. During flight and returning to main menu. Also has happened loading in after clicking fly now. The loading in hang I think was related to GAIST. The others I can’t say as it doesn’t happen frequently enough to really determine what the isdue is.
What GPU are you running?
