There was an XBox Services outage last night that was affecting people’s settings/profiles, but I’m guessing your problems started before that.
In either case, if you feel comfortable about it, try logging out of the Xbox account the next time you’re in the game at Main Menu - upper right your Xbox Gamer Tag name should be there. Restart the sim and it should prompt you to log back in. Just be sure you know your password and the recovery e-mail account is accessible to you in case things go pear-shaped.
