Sim Skunk Works - FIAT Aeritalia G-91 Released

Not exactly, first lick on handle pulls out the handle and deploy the chute, second click on the hnadle push it and drop the chute, same applies for key stroke.

Thank you!

We had a go at reproducing those Luftwaffe G-91 Autobahn Landing Exercise’s and found a suitable stretch of motorway complete with Bridge on the A 7 north of Hamburg.
Gina was prepared and we used the recommended SSW Flight Model config and also sorted the Auto Brake issue.
First attempts were ‘Smackdown’s’ and the Undercarriage and Low Pressure Tyre’s took a real hammering.
Using the Load Manager we reduced the Fuel Load and then had no problem carrying out those
‘Firm No Nonsense’ Touchdown’s that Lufthansa and their Passenger’s would appreciate.
Ganz Gut und Great Fun !

That’s a very nice RC Model !

Very nice scenario.
I also found latest FM+autobrake=0 nice, to me (with my configuration) it comes with the right inertia and you can now flare on landing.
But instead seems that you came down hard, I mean…Viggen style =]
Was the VREF 140KT + 5 (KT) for each 1000lbs of fuel?

Actually… Italian manuals say 1000lbs X 5kias , provided checklist 500lbs X 5kt instead. Strange … @ TapeableHeart14 could you please help with this?

Exactly ! Standard Set Up as Specified in ‘The Manual’.
ps We also played around with the Atmospheric Conditions to make it more interesting.
WPP- Calm Wind’s,…Moderate Gust’s + Low and Breezy together with Crosswind’s.

The Obstacle of the Motorway Bridge necessitated a ‘Sporty’ approach and Touchdown which the Gina accomplished effortlessly. Just goes to show,… Never underestimate the Agility of a ‘Chubby’ Girl ! She can manoeuvre surprisingly quickly.

Exactly what? Did you follow the checklist or the manual =]
I mean, did you compute your VREF with 5kts per 500lbs or 1000lbs?

Ahahah nice area.

I will look for something similar later today =] but in Sweden.

Because of the Steep Approach ,… Think London City,… but more so , we decided to lighten the Gina to enable us to get her onto the Deck without shaking the Teeth out of the Pilot.

FLARE 140 + 5 kts each extra 500 lbs of fuel
(Standard Procedure as Specified in the Manual and Check List.)

The Manual’s Guidance as Regard’s Angle of Approach , Aircraft Speed and Load Out were adhered to with the Initial Landing’s but we decided that the Pilot should keep his Teeth so we Tweaked the Fuel Load Out Figure’s just a little bit.

…The “One Week later” update.

One week after the release we are very glad that many guys enjoyed our little tin soldier.
We are putting a lot of effort to tune and fix all the little problems that we had on the initial release, and we are almost at 70% of fixing all the stuff we (and you) discovered.
Like we said, together with the first update (that we plan to release in a week from now,but maybe earlyer) you will have 5 free packages of liveries, including:
Italian Air Force ( 7 liveries);
Luftwaffe (4 liveries);
Portuguese Air Force (not yet decided how many,surely more than two);
Special Colours/Prototypes Package (3 or more liveries, including the iconical Tiger Meet of PAF)
Frecce Tricolori Package (3 aircraft including the “sporty” model without cameras on the nose).

It’s nice to notice that you will be able to spot differences between liveries,we will apply different worn, camouflage fade and stuff like that according to the picture we take for reference. Each livery will be unique and matching as much as possible the “real” one.

Have a nice weekend!

…:A little preview.

We preferred use the R3 German Flight Manual that says:
“FINAL APPROACH: 140 Kias (500 fuel remaining, and 5kt additional every extra 500 lbs of FUEL)” that is slightly on safe side (it says 10 kts more than R1 with 2000 lbs of fuel).
Initial tests showed a remarkable tendency to get a “sink rate” during the final approach, so we preferred the German to avoid the sink rate and/or too flat approach paths.
In several footages i saw most of approach were a bit “flat” preventing a “kiss” landing as should be.

Sound’s more like it ! With the unavoidable Steep Approach due to the Bridge and limited Runway we found it almost impossible to stay within recommended Speed Parameter’s as Specified.
We were reluctant to use Full Flap’s to avoid excessive ‘sink rate’ and even with Judicious application’s of the Speed Brake usually hit the Deck at 145 ish kts.

Thank you so much for the incredible work that you’ve all accomplished.
We thought that Christmas only came but Once a Year !

Is it possible to include this in the G-91 Documentation ?

Title 2 contains:

  • German Luftwaffe Flight Manual for the G91-R3, GAF TO 1-G91(R3)-1 dated 1-3-64, approx 198 pages. In English.
  • NATO Flight Manual for the G-91-R4, in English, T.O. NATO 1RF-G91-R4 dated 20-5-61 revised to 20-7-61, with approx 146 pages. This is the only “NATO” flight manual we have ever seen. The manual is in English and the aircraft on the cover photo are in Portuguese Air Force markings.

I must say that this is my favorite addon aircraft for the sim and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s nice to get an addon where the bugs are few and small enough that I’m not anxious for an update. If it’s not too late, I have a request/suggestion for a livery, which would be a Luftwaffe paint job with a shark mouth on either side of the intake.

i cant make the plane work. cant choose it in the game.
where do i have to install it, since the launcher does not find the folder?
it should be here right? C:\Users\XYZ\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community\simskunkworks-aircraft-g91

EDIT: found it
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Community

hello,
I would like to emphasize that the installer only looks for the typical locations of the sim, either MS Store or Steam default and suggest such locations.
If the installer cannot find such location user should point it on the right folder.

Now that you’ve ‘found it’ we’re sure you will have great fun with the Gina ! We most certainly do !

This a problem for many of us with rudder being assigned to LT-RT buttons on xbox gamepad cause freaking Asobo don’t recognize those buttons as analog so no matter the sensitivity option being tweaked,it acts like digital which makes every JET(not low pwer planes) wanting to drift on take off and landing.
It needs a lightning touch on any RT-LT to control rudder but not anytime works.
Asobo has not dealt with this issue no matter the tickets being send by many users
