Sim Skunk Works - FIAT Aeritalia G-91 Released

I’m very interested in this aircraft (and Piaggio P.149D) and waiting for a possible publication in MarketPlace, but probably I will end buying from one of those websites.

Hello,
if you succeeded to install previous version no reason why you don’t now except:

  • sure to run the installer as admin ?
  • are you pointing the installer on Community folder ?
  • are you running the installer with the sim running as well ? (don’t do it)
  • are you sure your admin has writing permission on Community folder ?
    let’s know
    /SSW

We are making all steps and setup for Market place but it seems to be a time consuming task, still waiting for approuval
(all setup has been completed)

Just did a quick flight with the new version. Flew the prototype. Great improvement over the last! I love being able to swivel the mirror and remove the gunsight - it makes a world of difference in VR for visibility.
Cheers!

Ok thanks, one way or another I am going to buy this aircraft, I thought it would be easier for the user to have all addons in one place.

I just flew the 2.0.0 in VR and its really smooth, an absolute joy to fly. I love it (and shht, dont tell - much prefer it over the 339)

One slight issue I encountered was an abrupt “overstressed airframe” end, while doing a very tight curve. Now I dont know about reality, but there wasnt any hint, that this might occur. It would be helpful, if there would be some shaking or vibration if the frame is stressed to its limits. Unfortunately simulators cant provide a sense of high G-Loads yet, so there is some need for another warning sign for the armchair-pilot.

I used to think that way and was waiting for Marketplace, but that has since proved disastrous with the often-updated aircraft. Since then, I prefer to either buy direct or via SimMarket, but really ANYTHING except Marketplace. Take, for instance, Aerosoft Cologne - after initial download, the product was updated on Marketplace and download failed. FOR A MONTH (until the recent UK update) I tried to download the full package (8 Gigs) from Marketplace only to have it fail for some reason at the end (and Asobo really couldn’t help)… It has been resolved now, but I dread a possibility that something like this may happen again. And I NEVER would have that issue with SimMarket… PLUS, I get to keep the installer file for future in my backup folder.

Hand’s Off ! ,… He’s Our’s !

It seems that version 1.13.16 introduced a bug regarding the stall speed with flaps, in many aircraft has been reduced by about 20 knots.
Even our G-91 has not escaped this problem.
I have been able somewhat to mitigate the problem but not solve it completely, at the moment the minimum speeds at which there are phenomena of lateral instability are about 5-8 knots lower than expected, depends on the load.
Considering that probably Asobo will solve the problem in a future version I did not go further because there are too many parametric tables involved: lift coeff vs aoa, pitch moment vs aoa, elevator scaling and others, force one of these ruins a balance difficult to achieve, moreover the predictable roll-back once the problem will be solved can be done quickly.
We’ll wait a couple of days to see if any more issue come up, then release version 2.1.0 that mitigates the stall speed problem and solves that comic inverted stick bug.
Bonnie, the culprit modeller, still cries counting the number of beer bottles that will have to pay us :joy: :joy:

Similar can be observed in the MB-339 if I have fuel mix bound to an analog axis which is then at zero. The throttle will roll back to its shut down position. (or indeed sometimes visibly does not…but the engine will cut out)
I simply remember to advance that axis to full before flight.

  • Yep, I’ve run the installer with admin permissions several times
  • The installer is installing it to the community folder
  • I’m not running it with the sim
  • Admin has writing permissions for the community folder

The first installer worked perfectly, so I have no idea what changed/ what’s preventing this version from installing :joy: So strange.

I got it from SimMarket

Yeah, I very much regret purchasing from the in sim marketplace. I have no idea what Microsoft does with these updates for weeks and weeks when everyone else has them in in hours or a day or two at most.

I already had several products at Just Flight and since I bought one G.91 for myself and they offer gift purchases to give away at any amount, it was easy to send a gift of the exact G.91 price to a friend. He bought me the MB339 on ORBX while I wasn’t working and had placed a self imposed moratorium on more add ons. Just started a new job and figured another unique Italian jet would make a nice gesture to my pal since we like to fly together in the same aircraft. Sim Market only had gifts in $5 increments. But Sim Market was a few dollars Canadian cheaper after doing the math on the currency exchanges. And Sim Market was first to get this update up and available.

I do try to use the same vendor for multiple purchases just for simplicity, so mostly ORBX and Just Flight so far. But everyone likes Sim Market too. And there’s some items you just have to get from the developer. My only strong rule is, NO IN SIM PURCHASES. But each unto his own and I suspect that’s a place a lot of developers make a lot of sales. And we like our developers making sales so they can stay in business and make more cool stuff!

I’ve updated to 2.0 and love the changes. One issue I’m having is that shortly after takeoff I keep losing hydraulic pressure. Any ideas?

Yeah, same here. I mostly like to get from Orbx, SimMarket. If it’s not available there, I will get it wherever it is, as long as it’s not the Marketplace. The ONLY exclusive Marketplace developer is Carenado, so I get their stuff on the Marketplace (which is weird, cause they sell P3D stuff via their own site and Flight1)… But if I don’t HAVE to touch the Marketplace, I won’t.

They messed up such a beautiful idea - I was really excited about being able to get things WITHIN sim and from the same place, but the way they implemented it made it a pain and a nuisance and NOW that I have my purchases scattered everywhere, I don’t care anymore. They literally ruined a concept I was REALLY looking forward to by terrible execution. I remember when Long-EZ got released on SimMarket only, as soon as it showed up on Marketplace, I bought it there the second time, just to make sure I have all the aircraft from there. There is ZERO chance of that happening anymore.

Exactly, I was SO into the Marketplace and the Long EZ was exactly why I learned to loath it. Having one place to go for add ons, potentially even free ones, had SO much potential, but now I only use it to see if there’s new things, then go elsewhere to buy them. I bought the Long EZ on the marketplace and then as others were talking about the great updates they got because they purchased elsewhere I waited 2 to 3 weeks for those updates to show up in the marketplace. I was very close to buying the Long EZ again elsewhere just to end the wait for updates. Had my budgets on discretionary spending not been drastically affected by covid I would have. Sad that Microsoft with beyond ample resources is MUCH worse than the other resellers on this. I believe it’s because they have policies company wide regarding inspecting for objectionable contents. But really, has anyone ever made an X or R rated aircraft add on??? OK, it’s the age of the internet, someone probably has included racy nose art or something! But that inspection should not take longer than a day! I don’t know if the weeks is just because their inspectors have a huge backlog? If so, hire more Microsoft! Or if some poor sap has to test an add on for weeks! (Very unlikely).
