As some of you may notice, sometimes the sim will start-up slower than you expect, and others it will seem speedy. I had been meaning to try to keep a record of this, and recorded some video of the start-up sequence, from the point the progress bar appears at the bottom, until you see the first menu buttons. For me, on average, its roughly at where the deer appears in the intro video. Rarely before this, and after a patch update usually after.
For my first pass I got the following. This was after a reboot, and waiting a few minutes to ensure any background process, services starting etc. had completed their operations.
Times are when a given phase has ended, so for me the menu appeared at 1 minute 22 seconds. What I was hoping to see was if there was a particular phase that was varying in time to complete the most, or is it all completely random.

What Hardware do you have and what internet connection speed - so that we can put it in perspective.
For me, with all the (unskippable) Logo and Trademark stuff it usualy also takes (at a maximum) 1:30min.
(Steam Version, PCIe Gen5.0 NVMe(Sim Install, SU4 beta), Win11, 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 96GB DDR5 (6000MT/s, CL 30), Gigabit internet connection)
For me, since SU4 beta, the loading times are really really consistent, and as written above never exeeded 1:30min in loading time, regardless what the PC is hauling around in the back (in my case usually Communicarion SW, Firefox, some peripheral SW, some network storage client SW, Steam of course and sometimed OBS)
On my second session, the video footage indicated that I got the first menu quicker this time, but the data doesn’t necessarily reflect this:
This was the point the video was at when the menu appeared at the bottom. The next scenes I think are with the cub on the ground, and then it focuses on the deer, which are perhaps 3-4 seconds after this.
The differences in the data are seconds though, so nothing significant.
Went back to review the first video, and yes, a second or so after this the menu appears at this point, the next scene is parked, and with the deer. Marginal differences so far.
Looking at the data again, the gains might be coming from the “Loading world data” phase, but I’ll see if this pans out with further runs.
Another “quick” one today, but overall it’s consistent so far to within a few seconds here, and there. More or less equal to the second timed session.
