Mine kept crashing on that screen while loading in, system restart fixed it

Thanks but did not help

really getting frustrated and trying to stay positive. I uninstalled removed all the files, go to Microsoft store installs small file, start msfs gets to TBM screen and just sit there. By the sounds of it though I’m not missing much.

Same here, I purchased with my MS account on August 16th, its installed and worked flawlessly since August 18th everytime.

I went into the MS store yesterday, looked at uploads and updates, nothing was available, but my version stated 1.8.3.0 which is the latest.

Closed the MS store account, opened flight sim, loaded, hit enter to continue and I get the dredded “disc question” again. Like I own the digital edition Premium Deluxe from the MS store, not XBox and not Steam.

Oh well, its just ridiculous how a simple update can screw up everything. I submitted two tickets, and no response yet at all.

What I hope is, I do NOT loose my settings, that will ■■■■ me off, and I am not reinstalling as a solution.

If they can’t come up with another patch or solution, it’s back to a useable sim like P3Dv5 where I have study level airliners.

Like most people, I don’t have time for this inconsistency for $130 USD with tax.

submitted a ticket too, still no response either.

So I found this fix for my problem of sim hanging on TBM screen. Looks like I needed to update one of my Visual C++ file. I got this from this youtube video, https://youtu.be/fKuw-JOvJ4w

I have no idea why this all of sudden happened after I updated too 1.8.3.0, but hope this will help anyone else who is having same problem.

your welcome glad it worked.

And today it does not work anymore…
I did NOT change anything since yesterday, no Windows updates, no MSFS addons, nothing and I get stuck on the TBM screen as before. The loading spinner in the lower right corner spins for a second, the screen flickers, the spinner disappears and thats all…
Task manager tells me that MSFS uses approx 3 % CPU power between 12 and 30 % GPU and nearly 2GB of RAM and even after 20 minutes, nothing happens.

Everyday a different problem, I am really considering to let this rest for a while because I can’t even start it anymore

PS: something is different, the Microsoft Store tells me to download Gaming Services (even if it is already installed) but won’t start with the download.

I am clueless :slightly_frowning_face:

that’s not good can’t check mine right now st work

This fix does NOT help the mass majority of people who are experiencing issues since MSFS 2020 version 1.8.3.0, and the recent update does not solve the issues.

MSFS has numerous tickets from me, they only responded with the problem is resolved.

Really? MS offered no solution in writing and no fix and misconstrued their ticket as an effort to mask their inability to solve the problem.

NOTING published works by anyone in any form, nature or fashion whatsoever to date.

Further, Windows 10 Home AUTOMATICALLY updates, you have NO recourse to NOT install a system update, unless you “rollback” or “reinstall” your operating system. Even IF you perform this action, Windows 10 will automatically update anyway to the latest system update. You can NOT change this, its how MS Windows 10 works.

Sorry, “rollback” and “reinstall” are NOT options and NOT solutions to MS problems. Further, MS AUTOMATICALLY updates, and therefore; your system will automatically revert to the latest updates of your OS and again, crash your sim.

MS already states version 2004 of Windows 10 has known defects with the sim.

Then address the sim.

Further, Windows 10 Pro ONLY allows a seven day window to delay updates, same applies; therefore, as I stated above, your system will revert to the most current updates in 7 days.

Period, you HAVE NO CHOICE to use version 2004 the latest Windows 10 version.

Rolling back and reinstalling to version 1909 are NOT solutions, and MS will install the latest version of its OS anyway which is 2004.

So rollback and reinstall all you want, this is NOT a fix as MS so eloquently states.

MS: Stop perpetuating and acting like we are stupid and do not understand how your OS works.

Stop masking your QA QC concerns and address your failed product.
