I’ve started this topic cause already there is no topic really about the upcoming Sim Update 15! As I see so far…
So my three main questions about Sim Update 15(it’s a bit long time until then, but doesn’t matter) are:
When is Sim Update 15 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 planned to release?
Will the new ground physics, announced in the latest developer livestream of Microsoft and Asobo, also be implemented or come to the airliners?
And last but not least, the most important question for me:
Will the delayed Inibuilds Airbus A320neo(V2) come with Sim Update 15?
Because, here in the forum, many peoples say, that it will come with sim update 15! Also I asked inibuilds on their forums and via Instagram DM. They also replied with a „yes“ to that question, and that the aircraft is already fixed, only Microsoft and asobo is the „blocker“ here!
I’d be thankful for many answers and reply’s in this topic!
Since the SU 13 download disaster, we are also suffering from abysmal download speeds in the content manager. So, my hope is, that they have solved the download issues. Downloading SU 15 at 1 or 2 Mbits/s or an update in the content manager, is not what I am looking forward to…
When 100,000 or so users are all trying to download a major update at the same time from the same servers it is not unreasonable to expect slow download speeds.
Perhaps the ability to postpone a compulsory update and still play the game in the meantime would solve the issue for most of us.
Yeah I noticed that. My theory is they throttled back the servers knowing there would be a ton of people buying stuff in the sales over Xmas and they didn’t want to crash the system knowing all the tech staff are off on annual leave.
No, so far I know, not yet… but you can speculate a very raw release time with the roadmap! There SU 15 stands after the „Dune“ surprise addon! That should come in march, with the real movie together. I think march 4. so SU 15 should be in April then… but who knows… maybe earlier!
For a small dev distributing on their own infrastructure, yes, you are absolutely right. For a top 3 global Cloud provider, no, it shouldn’t be an issue at all. We didn’t see Steam skip a beat when the Cyberpunk 2.1 patch rolled out to millions of users along with all the other Steam titles being serviced as usual.
I agree it’s not the many downloaders at same time, I got this happening all the time at any time, not just when there is a new update.
The same downloading problems are there what ever when ever you download in marketplace, first the few minutes it’s very very slow and then it accelerates to the speed one has for his/her internet connection provider and if there are many files in download, then this repeats again and again for every file.
To double the pain, this same problem is happening for both of my installs of sim, my Xbox X and PC.
I am very hopeful for the ground physics improvements coming in SU15 which are so desperately needed.
I’ve just read up on them and it looks like a new variable is being introduced which will essentially allowed flexibility/rigidity of aircraft bodies to be controlled.
Does anyone know if there will be any improvements to the very fudged airliner landing gear collisions?
Aren’t the Azure servers meant to automatically scale when there are greater loads?
Either way, it would be prudent for MS to open up more server bandwidth for the first 48 hours following a sim update to ensure there’s enough to satisfy the increased demand.
I expect sim update in early(maybe 03.05-10) march, so beta should start at the beginning of February. And due to that, I believe that we‘ll get the Ini A320 and more in about one month! Only with beta.
But only speculation without any big knowledge behind that, so just wait…
Same here on Xbox series X. No issues at all other than it being a bit stuttery on approaches into big airports but then the same goes for the 747 and the A310 which give me stutters, freezes and CTDs all the time and yet they are still in the sim … really hoping that the change to the way that avionics refresh fixes those stutter problems as promised
I think the poor performance of the Ini A320 provided an insight to the memory issues and BS and CTDs across other airliners like 747 and A310. They weren’t going to pull default aircraft already released and they couldn’t make a quick fix without working titles input. Now we have SU15 promises to fix these issue. Fingers crossed
