All i gotta say is that ground physics need to come global for the 3rd party aircraft (fenix, pmdg, now headwind, etc)
Have them to. Barely noticeable but I can not unsee it every time a land. It is time asobo fixes this.
Regarding download speed, in the UK I can download at 200Mbs+ in the morning when most of North America is asleep.
Just choose a time when only a few people are using the servers.
But I do have a 285Mbs feed to my router, which I network at 1Gbit.
I highly recommend setting up a 1Gbit network at home. I use a cat5E cable to a cheap unmanaged Netgear switch for all PCs and laptops in the SIM.
A small 128KB buffer on the switch reduces lost packets and it flies along at Mach 1!
Other switches are available. I like the Netgear because of the metal case - it won’t fall apart even if you forget 3 of the 4 screws that hold the lid on. Ouch Boeing!

yes, they vaguely mentioned that they are releasing the beta soon, but couldn’t they at least give us an approximate time so that we don’t have to wait ?

But if they tell you a time one week from now, aren’t you still waiting? They said soon and you are waiting, it’s the same sort of wait.

I’d have expected them to at least update us on the timing rather than just saying “soon” cuz that could be two days to one week or so.
think you are going to get a postal package and they tell you “soon” and they don’t give you the possibility to track it online and you don’t know when your package will arrive and just have to wait annoyingly!
doesn’t it irritate you much?
anyway, the communication with the community is weak and undeniable.

Ah, you should have opted for the Deluxe/Deluxe package where Jorg sends you a daily e-mail on what’s going on. Unfortunately, when you have a software issue that needs to be resloved…it might not be that easy. And in his daily e-mails, Jorg can only say…we’re working on it! ;-).

Seems to me they are caused by the smoke animation. Maybe there’s a way to disable those animations, I don’t know.
Maybe touch some grass. It’s just digital pixels.

Totally disagree:
In fact I have NEVER seen or experienced any game in my life where the developers are this close to the Community with nearly weekly development updates and regular news feeds by the top dogs at Asobo and MS. That’s something you simply don’t get at 90+% of gaming.
Also the fact that we are even still GETTING updates AND even with open Betas, while the successor has already been announced and is in development is very unusual and a big plus. Most developers would have axed the old version and concentrated only on the new one.
Lastly there are all the FREE DLCs we got, worth hundreds of dollars in the 3rd party market. That’s totally unprecedented in the gaming world.
Being part of a Beta usually is a privilage and not a right. So complaining now about not getting a clear date for an early sneak-peak into SU15 (let’s be serious for most people the Beta is just that) to me comes across as an entitled, unthankful and childish reaction

You are absolutely right, and I totally agree with you but this is mostly because the the community is working with the developers. I could say the same easily the opposite, never saw a community that is so devoted to make this game better, reporting any small bugs and so on.

True. The fact that we have a way of reporting bugs the developers actually pay attention to is helping as well. I have seen many good Communities fall apart after it was clear the developer didn’t give a ■■■■ about fixing stuff

First off, this is basically a simulator, not a game.
And logically, you can’t compare this vast and complex project with anything else.
Your mistake is that you think you are facing a game, as a result your expectations won’t be beyond a game.
My view is completely opposite to yours.
Imagine manager of a large company who all his communication and remarks with his employees are summarized in weekly updates through big monitors installed in the company environment, he has no direct and constructive interaction with his employees and does not care about them. He only pays them monthly.
What do you think the employees will think about him?
Do they say, “Yes, everything is fantastic because we get a monthly salary?”
No!
Getting paid is what they work for, it’s communication and interaction with the manager that leads to satisfaction and productivity, not just getting paid.
My point is that we are grateful to the developers, but we are suffering from the fact that they do not interact so well with their community of their audiences.
I say don’t summarize everything in weekly and official updates and be more frank with the community and be sure that the problems will be solved sooner.
In social networks, the situation is similar and interaction is weak.
I have been very excited about the new beta update for a few days now, but they haven’t said a single word about it, as if there is no update in the process.
I hope I have been able to convey my meaning.

Just one minor point of note, when I launch FS there is a wee text message in the launcher that says “launching game”, not “launching simulator”. So someone somewhere thinks it’s a game. Despite us taking it seriously.

I believe they don’t have nothing more to say…do they? I mean we already know what SU15 will bring to us, it was revealed several times in the roadmap updates( not so common if you think about most of the games you receive the patch notes after the patch is reales). We also received a time frame when the update will be realesed. We are basically just complaining that we do not have an exact date, but maybe they do not have either)

Jorg said March 12th! So only a month left… I think the beta should be coming very soon.
