Sim Update 3 [03.09.2021]

What do you expect from this update? Some of the fixes announced at roadmap for this date have already been fixed

I expect the sim working again without the awfull stutterring that I got with the UK update that made it unplayable for me :frowning:

I expect some things to get fixed, new things to get broken, and then we’ll have to live with that for a month or two…

I always look forward to the updates that fix the updates. :grinning:

I’d like to get back the 10 fps the UK update stole from me.

Hey I’m hoping for Portsmouth and Southampton photogrammetry to return and maybe some performance improvements in London? Selfish I know as this is a ā€˜sim’ update but here’s hoping :crossed_fingers: the Garmin updates of course should be great and I’m looking forward to testing these out in the TBM 930.

Well I’d rather have the sim moving forward and that’s the issue isn’t it to ensure more steps forward are taken than back. Remember though this update is being released to third parties before the formal release so that should catch any major issues as well as allow third parties update there products so a win win.

The hot fix they pushed addressed the Southampton/Portsmouth PG issue, have you updated the sim?

That’s right- hopefully we’ll be ahead of the curve on that front this time 'round. Maybe the third-party devs will catch glitches before we notice them post-release. I am hesitant to get excited considering there have been pretty big annoyances to deal with following every update so far- so I don’t expect this to go off without a hitch.

Once they open up beta for these things, then I’ll breathe easier:-)

Hehe. Maybe they can throw in a few extra for a consolation prize too?

LOD problems is now marked completed so I’m wondering if we’re gonna get our farther trees back.

title ā€˜ā€™ Sim Update 3 [03.09.2021] ā€˜ā€™

so will it be out the 9th or the 11th?

Given that the current ā€œbacklogā€ (Agile Software Development parlance for work to be completed - not a negative indication it’s behind schedule) squarely lists Garmin fixes, I’m hoping ALL of the update is 110 percent on fixing identified problems in the Garmin Nav Unit behavior and adding additional features.

Notably certain popular third party Modders of Nav Units have been very cautious to talk about their pending improvements, which could mean that the collaboration effort mentioned by Jorg in an earlier Dev Q&A may see first fruits after this push. Either the Sim Update includes Third Party changes and innovations directly embedded, or those same individual modders are holding release changes back specifically designed to work with this Update.

There’s already a big thread about it:

The sim update will be at march, 9th or march 11?

I recently started selecting the server closest to me and not switching to automatic. This seems better for me because it was driving me nuts. I didn’t have the problem till update 3. A dedicated server seems to help (for me anyway).

Expecting the usual mixed bag of amazing things and not so amazing things. And to see a wall of complaints to greet the poor hard working devs!

Maybe fix the piston twins’ taxi speed? 40+ KIAS (or would that be KIGS?) in the Baron is a bit weird. Same for the Seminole. Both are at the local A&P getting brake pads replaced…
