On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being most stable), how do you rate the Stability of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in this build in Virtual Reality mode?
In my short time with this build so far, I do have to say that it appears to be delivering some remarkably impressive visuals and performance on Xbox Series X - Maybe too early to say, but my initial impressions are that this is the best I’ve seen the sim look/perform on Xbox to date.
If they can keep it running like this, continue to resolve some of the remaining annoying bugs (cockpit interaction in freelook, etc.) and not introduce any regressions, I would be VERY pleased! Keep it up!
Update: Spent some time with PMDG’s 736 and 738, and completed a couple ~2 hour flights. Flawless from start to finish! They performed marvellously, and I’ll re-iterate that the visual fidelity I’m seeing is by far the best it has ever been on Xbox. Truly impressive so far!
Yet to vote, but good performance - at expense of lower resolution ground scenery it seems.
But, bugs and regressions reported since the beginning of SU5 still not addressed. Specifically
Frame Generation is not being applied to additional windows without having to toggle the settings off, then save, then on, then save, every time you launch MSFS.
Cockpit interaction system is locking on even when the white dot is disabled and “Legacy” is selected
A lot of Settings don’t seem to “apply” even though they show as being set.
Weather depiction: I don’t know what has been done but it only looks marginally better and it seems to come at great expense to the scenery (PG LOD).
Asobo - you cannot create all weather with clouds that appear to be convective cumulus clouds. Live weather is entirely missing stratus layers that are perhaps even more common than cumulus clouds. They are at least as common.
I went today to the KPHL area where I think it should have looked like what is in this video
Please get serious about weather. Find new ways of doing things if needed. It looks bad. It performs bad. It is very very unrealistic.
and in case my video link doesnt work, heres some screenshots to show what I think should be a goal for cooler temperature non convective layers - its low few with higher broken and/or overcast.
I’m not asking or expecting exact matches but if you guys can make realistic looking and behaving rope and balloons and aircraft and trees and (some) animals then please put more effort into the weather’s appearance and effects.
