SIm Update 5 Steam Version downloads the entire full game content and all addons again like hundreds gigabytes

I just tried to update the Steam Version of MSFS 2024

WIndows 11 64 Bit

and had all and everything installed locally incl all World Data before this Sim Update 5.

When i select / filter > Updates available

it tells a lot of the content has updatated so i selected all

and clicked > Update.

The result then is now that it is re-downloading the entire game dat incl all world data again like hundreds Gigabytes.

Is that common process now ?

Will this alltime behaving like this in future updates that one has to install hundreds gigabytes again with each SIM Update?

I changed my community path to another from beginning like instead C Drive to E Driveso i wonder if Sim Uopdate 5 has a bug with such environments.

It has alltime working until this new Sim Update 5 to onyl download whats new
but no more.

This update does not do that by default. I think the answer is in your community path having been changed. The sim likely did not know where your files went and re-downloaded everything.

The create a topic function looked like a mess like super tiny on my desktop pc when i created this topic in Chrome and i had to like type in a category.
All wrong placed.

The Sim Update 5:

It is working now.
I stopped all and re started.

Actually i have no clue but the update Infos in the application showed everything like it would download all and everything entire new.

Regarding the base pack it then jumped at like 5 GB to 10, 30GB and so on.
Several of the world updates have been entire re downloaded but it seems to be good now.
