Everyone, please keep any beta discussions in the beta forums. Thank you.
Apologies for that. There are just many non-beta users here that appreciate being kept updated on how things are progressing.
Will keep it to the beta forums going forward ![]()
17 posts were split to a new topic: How to participate in the Public Beta
Please keep topics in Bugs and Issues clear of off-topic posts and chatter. These topics are read and when off-topic or not reporting to help the issue - takes a longer time to read.
Asobo & MICROSOFT - Can we please have a Hotfix for this broken weather thing you are serving to us? We are paying clients and it is realy a shame how long you let us wait. I know there is a HOTFIX Beta running and there are lots of voices who where excited about the weather system which is included… issues seems to be solved… Please go live with a weather fix and let us play again with realistic weather… thanks
Utter shambles that live weather is broken once again.
Sadly my near-daily request for answers is only noticed if I tread too closely to nearly breaking forum rules. Instant response then. Ask why the game isn’t working? Crickets…
Live weather is broken, non existent. Just tried to do a flight and it will not change to live weather no matter what I did.
What’s the point of having live weather when you can do nice photos on this sim also without having it working? (ironic mode on)
Guys, after 1000+ posts, we know it’s not working. It’s already been clarified that a fix is on its way. No need to reiterate and clog the thread with non-constructive posts. Have patience.
why is this topic not logged as a bug? the weather at present has many issues, clouds altitude, inexistent overcast skies, absence of clouds variety, weather servers going down every night and so on and so forth…
Probably because this thread doesn’t specify a specific bug. It’s just a general thread talking about what a mess the SU7 weather is.
I just did thou…
please everyone, vote here if you agree

Oh yes, after 4 weeks we got yesterday an official statement about the weather issue.
Huray Asobo/Microsoft - We feel so honored that you take care of our broken weather issue (irony off).
I can only say, that I realy hope that there is a HOTFIX released before X-mas (year: 2021). I could imagine that lots of people where getting hardware or software at X-mas and they want to play with working realistic weather system…And these pointless statements like yesterday do not help us at all … a little bit more details would be great … So please…From today onwards, move forward a little faster… Thank you…!!
As if there was only one weather issue. Which issue are we talking about?
We’ll I’m not seeing any clouds in live weather and winds are inaccurate (or are you talking about the beta?)
I’ve not used the stable version since the beta came out. That post you reply to here that I made seems we got lucky or something because the weather in the BETA has been a broken mess ever since.
I have been trying out the latest Real Weather in the Southern USA for VFR touring in the Baron.
My experience is it only works sometimes , is often not accurate to Metar. No stable overcast, no rain, sometimes abrupt transitions which throw the aircraft about. Main problem is with ATC/ weather co-ordination. Touring with Real Weather is not practical if… ATIS cannot be relied on to provide accurate arrival weather. … ATC arrival runway clearance, particularly wind info is often inaccurate, and clearance is often given to a downwind runway when an into wind runway is available. … on one arrival to KHOU ATC cleared landing with a 44 knot tailwind…actual wind speed, accurately displayed by the G1000 Nxi was 21 kts.
Departure runway is often unsuitable…not into wind and not the nearest reachable runway…
A careful choice of runway is critical in light aircraft particularly, especially in stronger winds, for takeoff and landing. Best to avoid Real weather for now, at least with the fixed weather scenarios a pilot knows what the conditions are.
Been seeing very little variation in the clouds of late … they’re pretty much permanently cumulus of varying density and generally, but not always, a single layer. Really disappointing considering how great the weather engine was a few updates back.
