Sim will not run and will crash with a black screen reboot, Help appreciated!

Just to add some more info. After leaving it overnight boot the PC the next day and there are 3 errors in the event log.

Event ID 2 - Cloud Files Diganostic Listener failed to start.

Event ID 28 - Error setting traits on Provider {8444a4fb-d8d3-4f38-84f8-89960a1ef12f}. Error: 0xC0000001

Event ID 1801 - Secure Boot CA Keys need to be updated.

I believe the 1801 event can be discounted as thats the key change warning coming in 2026.

Event 28 seems to still be pointing to further USB issues.

To help out, we still need the exact model of your motherboard, a list of USB devices connected to your PC, and the programs that start with Windows.
That said, this forum isn’t really the right place to troubleshoot Windows itself, drivers, BIOS or hardware problems.

Sorry for the slow reply was away for work and thoroughly demoralised by this problem. Literally no idea what is wrong as haven’t changed anything and have gone from completely stable to completely unplayable. The game now just crashes and reboots the screen often before even getting to the main menu.

Something got updated by with so few error messages it is very hard to pin it down.

Its like a needle in a haystack given i havent changed any hardware and have unplugged all my flight peripherals its likely a remnant of some driver somewhere that hasnt updated cleanly or has left something behind. Trouble is when the game crashes there is no error message and all and no application fault in the log so its obviously a hardware/driver conflict somewhere :frowning:

thanks for the offer of help though , know hardware issues are not out odf scope here.

I see your BIOS is already up to date but have you also updated ME Firmware to version 15.0.50.2633? It’s important because sometimes updating the BIOS alone doesn’t update the ME, and that can affect system stability.

Only the following programs should start with the system: Windows Security, NZXT CAM and Realtek HD Audio Universal Service.

Sadly disabling all the start up items , uninstalling NZXT CAM does not resolve the issue.

I fear that its Windows itself that has crapped the bed leaving the full O/S reinstall as the option of last resort. Out of ideas otherwise , ive rolled NVIDIA back multiple times with DDU , rolled other drivers back as well and nothing seems to work. Unfortunately, sfc /scannow and DISM dont report any errors.

Yes, ME firmware is also updated to 15.0.50.2633. All the ASUS driver versions for wifi, networking, MB etc are installed and up to date.
