Sim Won't Load If Community File Not Empty

Hey guys !

Not sure what kinda curse hit my SIM. It was working just fine right before SU5.
Now I cannot run the SIM with my addons in the community file.

I tried moving the content under Community / Readding it to the sim. Did a full SIM REINSTALL yesterday ! Still nothing !

Basically, when I get the loading screen, the blue bar goes all the way to 100% and it stays there forever !

thsi means that the stuff you had there needs to be updated for this new version.

great. now we just have to find out WHICH one(s) are the culprit(s). With 415 mods in the Community folder that can take a while. Guess I’ll throw out all aircraft and liveries first and check on the sceneries first.

Hi CloudierBike598.

I have the same problem having selected the FLY button the blue load bar loads to as you say to 100%, and there it remains. I hope someone out there has the answer to this problem.

I’ve been reading on other threads that tree/grass/vegetation mods are responsible for some of it. I had the same problem, so I removed it. I kept my aircraft, airport, and WT mods and I’ve been ok since.

Unfortunately, it’s trial and error.

any specific mod you could name?

what about payware airports I have linked to the community folder { orbx and marketplace} I get CTD every time I try to use the menus

Mine was called ShorterTreesARIFSTUDIOS in the MSFS Addons Linker.

My problem turns out to be the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4, which I updated yesterday and finding which item in Community was the culprit. Today, again the updated working title cj4 causes MSFS to hang at about 50% progress loading a flight. Checking the Process Explorer reveals nothing happening, CPU at 0.10% and no I/O or network activity… perfect example of a hung application. Solution is to remove the cj4 mod.

Using the MSFS Addon Linker makes it really easy to add and remove items from Community as long as those are linked. If you have hundreds it is logical to remove half and test, if still bad put that half back and remove other half and then after each check put half remaining back and check until you’ve drilled down to the problem.
