Simbrief & Navigraph

Do you need Navigraph to use Simbrief? Or can you just use Simbrief with MSFS2020?
Will you still get the Airac updates just using Simbrief?

Hi,
you can use Simbrief without a Navigraph subscription also but Simbrief will stay on the default cycle or the latest what you have bought.

On the other hand, the sim will be automatically updated so you plan a flight with outdated data, and try to use it in a system with more or less current data. This could be result in an issue due not existing waypoints, changed airways or outdated navaids.

Also, you use different data provider - Simbrief uses Jeppesen, MSFS a mix of NavBlue and the free data from FAA (US area only). This could also be results in different issues (ie. different waypoint idents for unnamend waypoints).

Again, you don’t need any subscription but you should be aware of possible issues during importing some data from Simbrief into the MSFS.

Hope that helps
Richard

Just didn’t know if there was a way to update the Airac besides in MSFS2020? does MSFS2020 eventually become current?

If you purchase a Navigraph subscription, you get the updated Airac once a month and the tools to update the SIM, plus all your addons (Pilot2ATC, FENIX A320, CRJ, LittleNavMap, Etc…) As well Simbrief would use the latest.

MSFS does update the Airac, but they are always behind and do not follow a schedule.

Just curious if anyone knows the renewal price after the subscription has passed, do you get some type of break on the price or you have to pay the 80.00 again?

Same price, just renewed mine last month.

Why would you think that? Does your bill for your internet get cheaper if you’re customer longer? or your rent? does that go down over time?

Agreed… Now, special for long-time customers on NEW products, that’s a different story!
