Simbrief with Xbox X Questions

Hello. I have a problem. I’m planning a flight plan in simbrief. But when I enter the simulator, I can’t find the right sid and star. I’m playing on Xbox x mfs 2024. What am I doing wrong? Simbrief is updated every month. Does simbrief update automatically in the simulator? Or how can I update it myself on Xbox? Sorry for my English. It’s not my native language.

Hi @Pavios1016, welcome to the Microsoft Flight Simulator Forum!

I’ve moved your topic to the User Support Hub > ATC, Traffic & NAVAIDs category and added some tags for you. Hopefully someone will be able to help you

p.s. Your English is fantastic, you have no need to apologise!

Simbrief uses old (about 6 months out of date) navigation data unless you pay the subscription. This could cause differences between the simbrief flight plan and the simulator as the simulator is updated every month

I have a subscription to navigraht

I use simbrief on the Xbox all the time with no issues. What airport and SID / STAR are you trying to fly? Which aircraft?

It’s probably a data mismatch for the particular airport you are using. The navdata that Navigraph is using doesn’t match the in-sim navdata from Lido. This can happen, and was a much bigger issue in MSFS2020 where the sim data from Navblue was more prone to mismatch with Navigraph.

Since you are on XBox, you are limited to using in sim navdata. PC users can replace the sim navdata with the Navigraph database and never have a mismatch.

As suggested above, if you share the airport and procedures someone can probably check. The Navigraph forum could also probably help debug.

For example, the airport OTTH, star ORLE1L. In the simulator, there is no such star. I tried to find other star from simbrief. But I never found. They are all different

That’s strange they aren’t showing up for you. Im not in front of my Xbox just now so will have to check later, but that arrival does show up on the MSFS flight planner (https://planner.flightsimulator.com/), so it should be in the sim.

Which aircraft are you using? I’ll try to replicate it later.

A340 inibuilds

I don’t have the A340 so cant test that exact aircraft, however, I’ve just taken a look in the A330 and that STAR is definitely in the sim.

On the MCDU, click ‘F-PLN’, then the bottom left button to select your arrival airport (OTHH).

Next, top right button to select ‘ARRIVAL’, then you want to choose your approach on the left, in this case ILS34R. You will have to click the UP arrow once to scroll the approaches to see ILS34R. Click the button next to it.

Next, you have to choose your STAR. Click the up arrow 3 times to scroll, then click the button next to ORLE1L.

Click the bottom-right button to insert this arrival into your flightplan.
