SimConnect and Windows Defender

I have FS2020 on one PC, and a moving map on another PC, linked via SimConnect. After a recent Windows re-install, I can only use the connection if I disable Windows Defender on my local network. There should be a way to tell WD to allow the connection, but if I try to use the WD add app, when I browse to MSFS2020, I get the “You don’t have permission etc” message.

Curiously, the link still works for my old FSX. Any ideas?
