Is there a toolbar panel that can offer a “notepad” where we can write with the physical keyboard? Everything I’ve found either offers a canva where to draw with the mouse or a PDF/JPEG reader with no other interactions.
I believe it’s possible for game elements and panels to capture the keyboard, so a simple notepad would be appreciated. No need to save after the flight, just offer a way for VR players to write down quick notes with keyboard.
Can you type in blind with VR headset donned? Wow!
Please check “Notepad” function in the All In One Tablet v.3 by Flightsimulator.me. But it probably offers visual typing, with no physical keyboard.
Personally I use OpenKneeboard allowing making notes with stylus and a Wacom graphics tablet. It is like in real world flying, you don’t have a keyboard in your plane to make notes. Just pen and paper.
If you insist on typing on physical keyboard you may consider:
bringing your Windows desktop to VR (some headsets like Reverb G2 allow this) and using any Windows app you fancy,
using remote computer (old notebook) and controlling and seeing it’s windows desktop via VNC function of the All In One Tablet v.3.
Seems nice, they do have a way to write with physical keyboard. But you need to keep the mouse pressed inside the notepad. I don’t know why it does that.
Touch typing isn’t that hard, anyone can learn it.
As for other options, I’ve got the Piper Arrow 4 that has a tablet where you can take notes with the keyboard. Which shows that it’s feasible.
