Most players in hardcore simulator games like this can play for hundreds of hours totally objectiveless. It is the F2P style forced grinding combined with bugs everywhere is what ruining most players’ Career Mode experience, not a totally optional simrate button 
Oh, and with the current F2P style economy, even with simrate actively used, it would still take an extreme grinding to be “billions of dollars and there is nothing left to do”. And without it, only those few who spend their entire daily life 24/7 on this game can reach such a goal.
