SIMSTRUMENTATION - Free Air Manager Instruments for MSFS

Thanks anyway.

I don’t know it isn’t working. Maybe @Sling380 may have some insight on this. I’ve never seem AM not be able to import SIFF files before.

Me neither.

Some things to try.

1 - Export and then import an instrument that you already have in AM. Does it work?

2 - Try it with Anti-virus software disabled.

3 - Re-install AM.

OMG… driving me crazy. Exporting then reimporting an existing worked just fine. But #2 and #3 were strike outs. I’m at a loss here.

I’ve just submitted a help ticket. Not holding my breath though :frowning:

UPDATE. I found some other A320 siff’s to import and they seemed to work fine. Then I tried some of your other files (spec c152 fuel valve) and that did NOT import.

UPDATE2: Your Bonanza files imported perfectly. I have no idea why some will and most won’t?

Yeah, I don’t know what to tell you. I tried downloading and re-importing them and it worked for me. I don’t know what could be causing this issue for you.

Are they somehow being corrupted during the download perhaps. I can’t think of what else may cause it. Support should be able to resolve it for you though. They might ask for an actual file that gives the issue so they can check. Perhaps you could upload here a file you have downloaded and someone can try it. This will tell us if it’s now damaged after you downloaded. If that file works for us then I’m at a loss.

Support is asking for the exact file as well. They’ve imported from your github all without issue, which we pretty much figured. As soon as I get to my gaming PC I’ll send one that DID import and the ones I want that DIDN’T.

EDIT: For giggles I just downloaded AM to my laptop. And sure as heck it didn’t import the kodiak files either (that I just d/l’d with laptop, diff pc).

Files on the way soon for testing…

I was unable to upload directly here, so I put on Google Drive…

This was the ticket response from AM:

Ticket Summary:-
Subject: importing
Ticket reference number: XABZ-CKZZ-YHIH
Product: Air Manager Desktop
Message:
I cannot open the siff file you send me, with a zip tool (like 7zip). I can however open the original file from the server with 7zip.
You can easily try the same thing by changing .siff to .zip
This means that both your systems somehow corrupt the .siff file, and so this is not Air Manager related. Probably something with security on your system, virusscanner, web browser, etc…
In any case, not something we can fix…

Kind regards,
Ralph

That sounds right. If we’re able to download and install the files but you’re not, but you’ve confirmed you can export and re-import files locally, it means the siff files you downloaded got corrupted along the way somewhere, possibly by some anti-malware.

Did you try re-downloading them from GitHub?

Multiple times. Would it be possible (for testing) to have one emailed to me? Also, not quite sure what he’s talking about when he said I can try same by changing .siff to .zip …

[MODERATOR EDIT: Removed email address from post.]

siff files are basically just ZIP files with a different extension.

Let me see what I can do for you here dude. Give me a bit, as I’m at work atm and don’t have access to my files to easily send them.

plz don’t go out of your way. At your convenience.

I’ve zipped up the entire Kodiak suite and dropped it on my Google Drive. Let me know how this works out for you.

PERFECT!!! You just made my day my friend. Now I’ll just have to figure out what is happening on my end after I fly the KODI some

Enjoy. Glad I could be of assistance.

Yep as I suspected and support confirmed, the files are getting corrupted somehow. That will be obviously something between GitHub and you or local on your machine. As support says not specifically an AM issue.

Good luck in tracking down the source.

UPDATED: CJ4 Master Caution and Warning Buttons v 2.2

Updated this control for changes introduced in SU8 and the new WT CJ4 v0.12.12.

Current version in the AM Community Store won’t work. A new update has been submitted. Until such time as it goes live, you’ll need to download this updated version from our GitHub.

Right click this link and select ā€œSave link asā€ to download.

Regarding ā€˜Fancy Zones’, 30 days ago you recommended using version 0.51.1. But from their release notes for version 0.56.1 it looks like they have fixed the issue with child windows.

Will you revise your recommendation? Or is it still broken?
