I am chasing after this one too. I can’t reproduce it yet but will find it.
After some fiddling about in flight I noticed that the ALT annunciators came on, but again the same issue of control, with no VS/ALT control other than hunting the preselected altitude. I’ve just removed, then re-installed to re-test.
This standard autopilot unit had a bug where you had to use the AP ON keybind (standard ctrl+1) to turn it on as the button in sim was not working. Maybe it’s this.
The AP does come on, and it does do HDG, and NAV mode. You just don’t see that it is doing it. I can twiddle the HDG knob, and it will steer towards it. Similarly NAV will switch from waypoint to waypoint, but no indication that it is actually doing it.
I know, with the bug it was also showing some info on the display. Not sure if it’s that but I would check it if I were you.
After a removal, and re-install, I now have working annunciators.
Climbing to 10,000 at 500fpm.
Performance is still an issue. I’m barely doing 85kts, with just pilot/co-pilot, and standard load.
Just about to give NAV mode a go. Yes, that works now too, plus OBS.
There was one difference with the re-install. By default the installer wants to put the plane into “Community”. What I did post install was move the folder in the “Community2024”, and also renamed the folder to “sws-aircraft-airvan_1.0.12”. I like to add the version number to the folder to see at a glance what I’m running.
The only time I’ve seen that be an issue is with the Just Flight planes. Sometimes their copy protection won’t work, and you end up with the yoke locked all the way over to one side, and the EFB reporting an error. Rename the folder to the original name, and it works again.
I’ll re-test with the folder name change first, still in “Community”, then original name in “Community2024”, then the modified name in “Community2024”.
Same airport, WX53, starting from its single parking position, and the AP is busted. Folder was modified to “sws-aircraft-airvan_1.0.12”.
Moved to “Community2024”, original folder name, and the AP is busted. Hmmm, I wasn’t expecting that. Quit to main menu, spawned on the runway, and the AP now works! Quit to main menu, spawned on the ramp C&D, and it works. I’m pretty sure I’ve used the same sequence to start the plane.
Also noticed I’m still getting gear collapse in 2024 with version 1.0.12.
Hi
I also have this with the default GPS, however if a switch it for the PMS GPS my Autopilot works fine.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes.
Bob
You don’t happen to be selecting AP modes from external hardware or app do you. I’ve seen this kind of thing where you need the actual vc button to activate the mode because other code is also running that enables the full simulation to work.
just an idea.
No, just the mouse right now. It probably isn’t, but it seems random.
