Just kidding Mark!

Hahahah, brilliant reply!
I literally did rofl
I’ll try and restrain myself next time but the experiment had to be done in this case!
The Wilga is my piston Kodiak these days. They pair well together.
Lovely landing. I’m planning on shifting my Kodiak OnAir ops to Nepal in the Spring. Some crazy landings ahead!
Hello, i like flying the Wilga but it is a FPS killer in VR. ![]()
Challenge accepted, so I did a thing.
This is actually my first non-livestream, edited, direct-to-video production.
The first attempt was calm winds and clear skies, but after that I put live weather on and Holy Hannah were the winds ridiculous. I added some gust factor and only used flaps 20 for the live weather landings.
Fun challenge!
These are great! What are you using to control your cockpit view? Is this Tobi Eye Tracker? You seem to look around pretty effortlessly for someone also controlling the plane.
Thanks! I use TrackIR. I always say the hardest part is dialing it in so it feels pretty natural. But once you do that, you won’t want to fly without it.
I have been debating getting it but these videos may have some me. Very cool.
Nice landings! Good call on the flaps 20.
Totally agree!
Your video cost me a Tobii Head Tracker today and much of the afternoon setting it up. Definitely a nice addition when flying this plane all over.
Hi, why can’t I start engine with CTRL+E?
How do you get the discount if you already own the wheeled version on Xbox?
Cheers
Because it’s most likely disabled for the Kodiak.
You have to follow the correct procedure to start the engine to avoid a hot start and a cntl-e will most likely not do that, hence it’s disabled.
Refer to the manual or one of a number of YouTube videos on Kodiak engine starts.
I love trackIR, but hate the UI for the Nature Point one - it’s impossible to read! Would be interested to see what kind of curve you settled on for the Kodiak - your panning looked very smooth.
22 days without a Kodiak post??
I’m back flying it after checking out the new CJ4 for a bit (which is great, but hangered for now until the flight model gets fixed in SU12)
In the meantime I’ve been testing it’s ability to cope with max demonstrated crosswind take off and landings. And unlike some aircraft out there in the sim definitely possible to land and track centre line. Just don’t ease of the aileron once the nose drops. If fact you have to keep putting it in as you slow.
The margins drop considerably when its gusty🙁
How am I supposed to taxi with this? I have been taxiing at low idle with the occasional braking every now and then in order to not overspeed. Yesterday I watched a video with Austin, the creator of X-Plane, who talked about taxiing with PT-6 engines and he said that you’re supposed to taxi at “ground idle” with the throttle in beta. Is beta the range behind the detent? In that case, how do I prevent the Kodiak from reversing? I’m using the Honeycomb Bravo.
The Kodiak throttle has three ranges:
-normal - idle detent.
-beta range
-reverse
When you put the throttle behind the detent, that will pitch the props into the beta angle will produce lower levels for forward thrust. BETA will be indicated on the CAS.
If you keep pulling back the prop will go into reverse range. Note that there is no detent between Beta and reverse IRL. It’s something the pilot could tell by feel and sound.
How I configure this on my Bravo using SPAD is to have normal-to-idle & beta on the main axis and then full reverse on the button below the physical detent.
It means I don’t have a physical detent at idle, but I have an LED that comes on, the CAS Beta alert and the in-cockpit click sound which all let me know I’m in the idle detent.
Ground Idle = Kodiak condition lever Low Idle

Thanks for the explanation! Apparently you’re the only one on Youtube who knows how to taxi this thing. There are so many big amateur simmers on Youtube who don’t what they’re doing but still give advice and instructions as if its correct.
