ahhhh - thank you…lovely bit of work.
I had been having some “challenges” with my graphics and thought this some new craziness…but its deliberate - lovely bit of detail. well done.
You are supposed to download the Free Extras from the website. I bought direct to support the Dev and I always try to buy direct where possible and if the Dev’s update process is good which SWS is, you just go through your Account. However the link for the extras did nothing for me, the link just did not work. I read it has been fixed, but as I bought direct I will use the installer process, and that has been fixed so I have read so that the options you choose will be installed.
Also Contrail may have the options, but contrail can be hard to find the additional settings for your product. I have over 100 Sceneries with them, and some have additional options but you got to dig into the app on the products page to find the settings.
Roger that
I too prefer developer support through direct purchase.
The website was crushed yesterday, veered hard left to Contrail (like 'em) purchased and…
here we are.
Thank you for answering and helping ![]()

Sadly I have the same problem. Setting the pilots weight to zero does not function as a workaround, but selecting one of “mans best friends” (Arlo in my case) moves it at least out of sight.
I was advised to click the headrest behind me and that solved the problem for me.
Thanks, that works!
These kind of engines need quite some trimming in TO, my son is a militairy Pilot who flew the PC7, myself I have 800+ hours in RL (Single and twin engine aircraft and helicopters).
My SWS PC12 is unflyable, almost no rudder needed on take off roll, but at 90 KTS it breaks out to the right (ball to the left), almost so much that I can not get back control of the aircraft…totally unnatural…when i manage to rotate it is totally uncoordinated and when I fly straight and level I look right in front of me through the left window… Also the PMS50 neither the TDS xi GTN is showing up in the cockpit altough I choosed it everytime I install the product. Todays update did not change anything, uninstalling and reinstalling also not. I would like the aircraft to behave as it should and would appreciate the help. Regards, Ben
Well, I’m glad I checked here before hitting the BUY button. I will keep my money and stick with the 500. Releasing a half baked product seems to be business as usual.
All this seems quite strange to me.
It is an absurd way to tarnish SWS, themselves, their magnificent and well-deserved reputation.
I agree the rudder dynamics just do not feel right. Why would the plane pull hard to the right at the takeoff trim setting? I think at the very least that trim setting needs to be adjusted. Also how the plane drifts slowly with power changes and adverse yaw feels off. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the sluggishness of yaw feels unnatural.
I’m an airline pilot in real life with over 1,000 hours in single engine high performance aircraft and never once has the plane drifted right at high power. It should drift to the left and require right rudder to compensate. Also the effects of p factor are felt immediately. This plane feels like the p factor is on a curved sensitivity axis.
Again I think that rudder dynamics, pilot showing or not, GPS reflections etc. Are things that are easy to fix and SWS will fix. I have no idea how those escaped the beta but let’s try to be patient towards the devs here.
What is really difficult to understand is how they can only install one version of avionics and how there is no way to change it when every other dev has this figured out. This is self-inflicted damage.
Okay but isn’t this due to the usual bug with the MSFS weathervaning?
The rudder dynamics are quite unique as it has the Pilatus physical aileron-rudder interconnector system.
Insults like this aren’t really useful. This developer does not release “half baked products”. If you don’t want to buy it, that is fine, but the jabs are not needed and serve no purpose.
I managed to get rid of the hard break out to the right, I did this by reajusting the weight and balance…not that i set more or less weight, only reajust and set again.
Now it stays on the runway, but i have to give left rudder on TO roll (wich seems awckward), also when i keep it on the runway until 100 kts, my small rudder inputs lead to uncontrollable turns left and right and in the end it rolls of the runway in 3 seconds.
These flight Caracteristics are a total mess…i wonder what the beta testers where doing and how on earth could the Pilatus Company gave their certification to this product?
I raised a ticket on Simmarket…got a message back that I have to go to SWS form this…but at their website we can not raise a ticket…
We wasted money again…not expected this from SWS…
I can’t comment on the code related issues with hot-swapping avionics. I do know that it can lead to breaking changes due to the way the VFS &JS works (I had to uninstall PMS GTN750 as it was causing issues in aircraft that didn’t even use it)
But what I can say is that I’ve never once hot-swapped avionics mid session. If you have a 3rd party payware set of avionics I get why you want to be able to use that over something stock or free. But doesn’t that mean folk have their preference, load it and generally stick to it? How useful a feature is hot swapping?
Mmm… I agree.
There has to be a more customer friendly solution rather than a complete reinstall.
I have absolutely no problems on T/O , sure you have the trim all set in the green? No yaw damper activ? For me this aircraft feels just like it should - maybe something wrong with your general settings, assistance on or off?
Hotswapping is pointless.
What you need is the ability to select the avionics you want to fly -without reinstalling the product-
Either loading the proper avionics or changing it before turning the battery would suffice.
Yes - something between a hot-swap and a full re-install would seem the most sensible.
