Is it so that the latest update has been released in December 2023?
Are there any information on a new update? When and what will it include?
And one more q: is the an EFB (coming)?

From their Discord:" If the testers confirm that no major issues remain with the aircraft, it will be out by Wednesday. The changelog of version 1.2.6 will be on the website next week and is rather extensive. "
So maybe tomorrow. Not sure about the EFB, it was said that something is in the works, but it may be in conjunction with the failure system, which will come with an additional charge.
I just downloaded the latest update from the SWS site.
Lots of improvements. Visually, systems and handling. Take-off, yaw, flight characteristics so much better now.
Regarding the release of the PC-12 on Xbox, I think the last update about this was in mid-February, where a breakthrough had been made. Is there any new news or progress that could be given? If you canāt tell, Iāve been eagerly awaiting this one.
Many thanks.
Follow the SWS discord they give weekly updates there.
A very good update. Huge improvements when it comes to yaw right after take off and particularely when landing at low speed. Airfields with 1500 ft or less runways are now usable thanks to the corrected yaw. The PC-12 can now be enjoyed in itās full potential. And of course all the other improvements and bug fixes. Thanks SWS.
My LED Lights mod for the PC-12 has been updated for this latest update
I canāt support the positive feedback for the recent update.
Yes, the messed up yaw behavior has been alleviated and it is now possible to keep the aircraft on the centerline during the landing approach.
However, the underlying issue is still present. It still tends to fly sideways. This can be reigned in more effectively than before, but nonetheless will make you drift off the track again.
There will be fans of this flight behavior (motto: if it is so hard to control, it must be realistic), and they should be granted it.
Iām deleting the PC-12 because imho it has a fundamental problem with the flight model that requires a major overhaul rather than tweaking, and I donāt see that coming any time soon - if ever.
I agree with you. I also find the Discord a very unpleasant place for help or feedback. I find the real world pilot they hired a bit arrogant in his responses to questions or feedback, and since he is extremely active every conversation or topic has his replies in them. I am sorry for being so negative, this is my personal view and I donāt expect others to agree with me.
Do you use rudder when turning the plane -assuming no yaw damper?
Excuse me if the question sounds too much, but a user reported on Discord that as soon as he used rudder the plane was handling very well. I always assumed that rudder is being used and this caught me by surprise.
Regarding whether it is realistic or not, there are cases where the slip is excessive and we are targeting it. But in the vast majority of cases rhe plane reacts as expected and close to what we experienced. Without Yaw Damper you need to work the rudder.
Yes, I do. I think people will get to grips with it with a lot of training, but having a few hundred hours on real SEP aircraft from C172 to SR20, I simply donāt bother because I know thatās not how aircraft fly.
I will probably come back to it after some time and see if things changed profoundly, but for the time being Iāve had enough.
I didnāt had drift or yaw at low speed landings (~80kts) on the 20+ landings I tested. With the previous version I had it all the time to the point I gave up soon after the release of the previous update. Landing over 100kts never was a problem. With this version some little yaw can occur when you change torque but can easily be corrected with small rudder input. If the approach is trimmed and powered adequatly there will be no yaw when turning off the YD on the last 1 or 2 miles before touch down. Except, again, if you increase/decrease torque. From what I read this happens with the real plane too. In what magnitude, I donāt know, but it makes sense.
Yes, someone mentioned on discord (FSW one ironically) that they had had a virus warning with the latest PC 12 update.
The installer .exe itself and included javascript files can be flagged as viruses. Also the installer is trying to access the windows registry to see where the Community folder is located -this is also an action that can be passed for a virus.
Sometimes we get such warnings during beta testing which have proven to be false positives. We also do checks using online scanners like VirusTotal, which run against numerous virus databases in one go. Therefore, we have aeen this before -even in P3D it was a common problem-, investigated it and concluded it is a false positive.
We recommend downloading and installing with AV off for that reason, as AV does flag certain files used in add-ons as viruses and will lead to a corrupt installation with files missing, avionics breaking etc.
Thanks very much for the clarification.
FYI, the installer .exe is just a self extracting archive file. You can extract it with 7zip and then just copy the appropriate folders (sws-aircraft-pc12, plus whichever compatibility packages you need) to your Community folder.
Iām really enjoying the PC-12 after the update. Love the heavy controls and the fact I finally need to use my rudder pedals in-flight.
I wonder if a workaround might be to put the installer file in a temp folder on the desktop, and exclude that folder from realtime scanning in the user AV software.
That might not work with heuristic scanners though, since they look for file behavior, not location.
It really depends on the antivirus and UAC permissions each has on their PC. My PC is set up to not allow anything on the OS drive or desktop, for example.
By the way, the Marketplace version has finally been cleared, so it should be available this coming Thursday on PC & Xbox. Fun times ahead!
