SimWorks Studios PC-12 (47 and NG)

Just picked up the SWS PC-12 for 2024. Absolutely loving it so far. The default PC-12 is a good aircraft in and of itself, but the SWS version takes it a step further. Thank you!

i agree on this. i keep trying out 2024 every couple of months but each time it reminds me its a buggy mess. its still very far from being any sort of 2020 replacement, which is a huge bummer since it does look so good.

two things I can’t get over are the near-constant hitching, and the issues with saved custom cameras. both are deal-breakers for me.

I really love this plane now! They did a fantastic job on it with the updates! Everything works as expected and it flies beautifully.

I agree. Huge kudos to SWS for continuing to support and improve the aircraft.

Hi everyone. Was hoping for some assistance from experienced SWS PC-12 pilots. I’m flying the 45/47 with the TDS GTNXi. I usually fly RNAV approaches no problem and love how the aircraft performs. However I am thinking of getting back onto VATSIM and so I thought I had better practice some ILS approaches. I must be making an error as I cannot get the aircraft to capture the GS and descend. Yesterday I tried several times with the ILS approach to 34L at YSSY and I just couldn’t get it to work. I was on the correct ILS frequency on NAV1, set to VLOC. But when I hit APPR mode it just seems to disconnect. Could any experienced PC-12 pilots please let me know the correct procedure to perform the ILS landing? Thanks!

I’ll try one next time I fly and report back (probably tomorrow). I can’t recall if I’ve flown any approaches on autopilot with the PC-12 so I don’t have any info off the top of my head.

The only thing I can think of is make sure you’ve got a green needle on the EHSI with ā€˜VOR1’ or ā€˜LOC 1’ displayed (Not sure if this rendition specifies between VOR and LOC). The NAV button on the EFIS controller will cycle through several modes so maybe it’s possible it wasn’t on VOR/LOC 1? I don’t know if using the CDI ā€˜button’ on the GPS conflicts with that or not.

Thanks I’d appreciate your feedback if you fly an ILS approach. I definitely had the nav set to LOC not GPS, and the NAV1 radio tuned to the correct frequency.

This is one of the first videos I’ve ever made so dont judge me :rofl::rofl:
But I did a ils in this video i you want to have a look at you know, see what your doing or not doing…

Thanks Fragman I really appreciate you being prepared to show that. I can’t see anything you did that I did differently … I’ll have to give it another try and see if I can specifically identify where it is going wrong

I had planned on doing YMHB-YSRN-YMHB today with a practice ILS back into Hobart but I only had time to do the outbound leg. I did, however, fly the RNAV 18 into YSRN and the autopilot was able to capture the course and glidepath with out issue. I know it’s not like for like since GPS was providing the guidance but APR mode did work. Just for the sake of sharing, I manually managed my decent with the use of VS mode while the aircraft flew the lateral part of the approach on NAV mode. Once established on the final course and on the glidepath, I engaged APR mode. I disengaged the autopilot at 400ft RA. Hopefully some of that helps. I will try and get the return trip with an ILS done in the next day or two.

We caught a bug with this one. What you need to do is cycle the source from GPS to VLOC and back to GPS and it will work. There was a loophole in the code.

It goes without saying that it’s on the fix list.

Do we have a target time frame yet for the launch of the PC-12 NG for MSFS2024? Other than ā€œit’s done when it’s doneā€ I mean.
Will it have wear & tear and failures?

The NG model is done and its systems are 70-80% complete. You wont see it before th 2nd half though as we need to finish the failure module for the 12/47 and release the Kodiak 100, 900 and PC-12/47 for 2024 to dedicate to it.

Thanks for the info.
Wait are you saying that the Kodiak will get a native 2024 version?!?! I own and love your Kodiak.
It works pretty well in 2024. Will you release a native 2024 version with new features?!
If so, will I have to buy it again or is it a free update from 2020 to 2024 version or maybe with a small update fee?

It will be a paid upgrade, but not full price. Career mode is one of the things we want to add to it.

Thx, that’s good news. The one question: Will it get wear & tear in free flights? I need dirt on my workhorse

We want to use our own damage system in Free Flight, which we will first introduce in the Airvan. For career mode we will use what’s default, as that is a requirement.

Great, sounds like the Kodiak update will be coming earlier than the NG and I love it.
Man, if I had known earlier, I would have waited with my great south america tour for the Kodiak 100 2024 version to come out.
