SimWorks Studios PC-12 (47 and NG)

What does the pro offer over the current PC12?

It’s not easy to add a new aircraft mainly because of lack of information. Once it’s been in the market for a while and there are a selection of operators using it then things may get a bit easier.

A simplified list of the Pro’s differences is:

  • Redesigned cockpit: Different cockpit shell, missing DV window, re-arranged panel to fit the 3 Garmins, PC-24 yoke. These along with other minor differences warrant a significantly remodelled cockpit compared to the NGX
  • G3000 Prime avionics: that thing is a G3000 only in name. The entire UI is different, with shortcut buttons, pop-up menus and touch screen controls. Some of the gestures are such that you cannot replicate in a simulator, you need an actual touch screen to be able to simulate some of these.
  • Garmin autoland: that thing we’ll have a hard time simulating in the TBM960, it isn’t much different here
  • FADEC: the differences between Garmin’s and Honeywell’s FADEC are unknown. We can document the aircraft’s behaviour but what happens behind the scenes is -and will remain- secret to us. A best guess is what developers can do.

Engine/flight handling should be identical to the NGX.

Long story short, the airframe is the same as the NGX, the inside and systems are a different aircraft.

I surprisingly didn’t have any motor sound when flying the PC12 in 2024. anyone else had this before ?

I get it only outside the cockpit, inside is dead quiet.

Inside the PC-12 you only hear the wind and beta IRL. The propeller buzzing hardly audible, if at all.

I don’t hear anything with window open or outside view. In FS2020 everything is working.

Great news coming out of the oven in the SWS Labs

After a very long time in the works, the SWS PC-12 update is coming within October, featuring:

  • Flight model & controls improvements for better crosswind control
  • Redone cabin model with lower texture footpring
  • New passenger seats
  • Various bugfixes

This should cover all the “core” PC-12 issues, releasing some of us to focus on the SystemsPulse expansion and PC-12NG without looking back. Some more updates are planned to the aircraft until the end of the year, covering the tablet and additions to EFIS and avionics hot-swapping.

Yeah, it is the Carenado stock 12 that is dead silent in the cockpit.

The SWS too. At least mine

Wonderful news. In particular looking forward to the new flight model.

1.6.10 is out, tomorrow we will push a minor fix for some door stickers that got removed by accident.

Downloading as we speak. Thanks a lot.

Does the fix require a complete redownload?

Yes, unfortunately.

Version 1.6.11 is out at SWS, coming to other vendors Monday. It addresses some graphical glitches and fixes autopilot & yaw damper bobbing.

Thanks for the update. FYI, the latest installer creates a new community folder inside a new folder named Package. This should be the folder called Packages. I moved it manually afterwards.

I will get this sorted.

Edit: @EagleRay1 can you make a ticket on our site or Discord about it? We couldn’t replicate it on our side yet, so we need to see it.

Does anyone else think that the flood light is way to bright in this aircraft? Even the lowest setting (5%) is almost too bright at night. I understand that it needs to have a certain brightness to be visible and usable in twilight situations as well, but the adjustability is too coarse at the low end, in my opinion:

5%

50%
