I’ve been following the handling discussion in this thread with great interest, and I am kind of confused.
With my rather primitive controller set-up (Logitech yoke w/throttle quadrant), I truly find the handling of both the RV-8 and the RV-14 to be noticeably better than the RV-10.
I wonder if the reason for my experience is my lack of rudder pedals and the pilot assistance option for this condition?
As an example, during RV-10 take-offs I notice an extreme tendency for it to roll to the right as I try to hold her straight down the runway.
Would normal rudder controls minimize/prevent this? I can see where it might - with less aileron interaction used to control direction.
Surprisingly, though, I don’t experience this with either the default aircraft or most of my other add-ons - the CAS J-3 Cub being one notable exception (I’ve totally given up on THAT one).
Bottom-line:
I love both the RV-8 and RV-14. The RV-10, not so much…
