I’ve always liked using Sketchup for simple objects, but I find when I import them into Blender (either as a Sketchup scene or an .obj file) and export them to MFSF, they’re not showing up in the scenery editor objects list.
Has anyone else tried this? I’ve noticed that when I import as a Sketchup scene, there is only one object listed in the pane to the right.
Anyway, any thoughts or comments would be helpful.
Thanks in advance
John
Hi John, I have used .obj imports in Blender, which work fine when exported to MSFS.

Make sure your texture files are in \modelLib\Texture

How are you creating your glTF+BIN+XML for import in MSFS project ? Do you use the official Asobo/Khronos addin for MSFS on the side of Blender ? If you don’t have a GUID and an XML, it won’t be loaded. The usual GLB 2.0 export in Blender will not work, you will need the addin.

Also, make sure you always build your project before opening Scenery Editor… inspect the Console ! sometimes the Console gives relevant messages.
Thanks for replying.
I’ve been creating objects and extracting photogrammety scenery in Blender for some time, so I have the proper procedure nailed down.
I’ll just have to go back and pay very close attention to what I might be doing wrong, or at least take the time to read the sdk console after creating the package.
It’s not a big deal, it’s just that some things are just so easier in Sketchup and when I read about the import addon I thought I’d give it a try.
Thanks again.
Same here. Scenery is not showing up anymore. Has always worked flawlessly. Now after the sdk update my objects dont show in scenery list…
