Flying in for final at Anchorage, suddenly sky turns to orange like the cloud layer suddenly changed

I’m in Oregon and live weather goes out from 3:00 to exactly 4:13pm, at least on the days I am flying at that time. I go from severe clear (no live weather) to whatever the live weather is at 4:13pm. Today over CYVR beautiful clear skies then suddenly bam, orange clouds all around as the weather shifts to live and the sunset colors the clouds.

Maybe this was your issue.

Or you scheduled a one way flight plan to HE double hockysticks!

Interesting, I was running live weather so maybe that’s what happened
