I use the Sky4Sim utility inside VR and maybe it is just coincidence but since the latest 1.30.12.0 avionics upgrade, a few days ago, the map background (terrain) is now just black, but the flight plan track and various other overlay information is shown.
I can confirm this. Their website says it’s updated for the new version of FS but I’m not sure of its veracity.
Strangely, interestingly, today the problem has gone and the map is now back!
Maybe it was a server related problem, as I haven’t made any changes since yesterday?

Hello guys!
When map appears black it is usually a problem with the access to map tiles servers. The services can be down. A good test to do is to check if both Bing and Osm map background are unavailable. Usually only one of them will be down at a time.
Since version 1.6 sky4sim is fully compatible with the new WT avionics framework!
