My flight today KMSO - KONP (Missoula, Mt., to Newport, Oregon)
Departure at Missoula was incredibly realistic (I used to vacation in Bitterroot Valley - and wildfire smoke was frequent, thick, and often, choking). Current fires are in Sapphire Range (I believe per SkyVector) just east of the valley, MSFS seemed to portray a very accurate environment where the smoke settles into the valley. After departure using drone camera views - pretty dramatic heavy “smoke” behind as I departed to the west. Smoke was accurately shown as a brownish / yellow tint.
Maybe coincidence with other weather input - but seemed spot-on to me.
Smoke / haze is continuing as I fly west over major burn areas from this season.
Fun flight !
