I am - as stated within another thread - a “serious simmer”.
However I see a lot of snobbery going on within these forums.
So I, for one, would like to nail my tags to the mast [as it were] and make it clear that I am
just as happy to be seen as a “gamer” too.
I use my computer for a myriad of purposes.
On it I can generate spreads and do my correspondence.
It stores various aspects of my life and family.
It stores my music collection and acts as a front end for my hi fi system.
It even acts as an expensive [albeit over the top] effects pedal for my guitar collection.
But when I am not “flying” or doing any of the above, you may well find me gaming.
And what a splendid array of games there is to be had out there.
I loved, for instance, the visceral madness of GTA 5 and the historical elements of the early COD releases.
And I still look back fondly on [a personal favourite] the wonderfully atmospheric Stalker [the original].
The game responsible for introducing me to the [then fledgling] “open world” genre.
So let me be clear and all grown up about this : The tags “simmer” [serious or otherwise] and “gamer” ARE NOT mutually exclusive.
After all, [WARNING: tortured analogy imminent] I don’t buy a washing machine and only use it to clean my socks whilst I do the rest of my laundry by hand.
T’would be madness, would it not?
