So, us who are affect by the FPS drop, are we just bricks until unknown fix appears?

Honeycomb have a bunch of XBOX compatible products in the pipe - a new version of the Alpha yoke, as well as a HOTAS setup. It will be possible to have an experience similar to a PC on the XBOX. I think that’s not a bad thing really. Not everyone has a baller PC that can run at high fps. The XBOX will likely do that well. Add the right peripherals, and you can have a ■■■■ good experience.

But expectations will have to be put in check. It’s not going to be possible to match the functionality and expandability of a PC, no matter what the XBOX fans seem to think. The vanilla experience will be identical, but expandability will be very limited by comparison.

Oh yeah, I remember that. You made your own. I think I had asked you about that in the cockpit thread some time ago.

It’s hard to keep track of who’s who and who’s done what sometimes. Particularly from this old dude. lol

BTW, with Mobiflight, all those buttons should be able to function properly.

Yeah, same. There are too many people here to be able to keep accurate track of. lol

And BTW, I do remember watching your YouTube videos demoing your simpit and being hella impressed with what you accomplished.

I had only a few flights with SU3. My around the world trip is grounded again for the second time. First time buildings were way to tall. I eventually fixed the tall buildings myself and carried on my trip. These current issues however has killed 2D and VR at least for me, for the foreseeable future. It’s a shame that the sim is moving backwards and not forward. Moreover, it seems to be the general rule of thumb from day 1.

Cheers

Sadly, the silence continue…almost 3 weeks, more then 1000 votes already, the worst state of the sim since launch and beside ‘investigating’ we don’t have any information about what is happening.

That’s disappointing, 7 months after launch the sim is unusable for so many people and still even to get a word from the developers is mission impossible.

This should be addressed immediately before anything else.

They said few times after lunch that they rushed the launch and should wait more, looks like they doing it all over again with the xbox launch this time.

Just rushing to reach the xbox launch and us the pc simmers that invest thousands of dollars in our sims, we sadly stay with bugged software.

Wake up there… We deserves to get more information.

Yes, another check on the forums and another day of absolute silence. Showed someone the game last night- trying to fly around Tokyo… Ha ha! Massive unstable stutter mess, unplayable. Changed to London. Same thing… Very frustrating how long this has gone on for without much of an update about what’s being done to rectify it.

As mentioned by so many others, it is not really the delay that I think is causing the outrage. But as a major player in the software industry, which at least MS is, I would’ve thought they have some professionals there advising the FS guys how to communicate in such instances.

This is what - for me personally - does not shine a very bright light on the ENTIRE MSFS endeavor.

Something basic like: 1) this is what we know 2) this is what we don’t know 3) this is what we’re trying 4) this is the timeline or if there is none at least say it

This would be more than enough for me to kind of get my expectations right and trying to understand it may be a difficult task to do away with this bug.

And this is really nothing out of the ordinary or time-consuming to do. I think this is rather standard practice in every industry and area.

After the last outage…what was the last week or the week before Microsloth announced that the Azure services were over taxed, and they were building a new data center to accommodate the load, that data center would be up and running in 2 months, and I hate to say it but I bet to wager a shiny nickel on things wont be back to normal for 2 months…

One of the problems I think Asobo have is that the problem reporting here on the forums is not great. Read this thread and users are referring to several different problems. One reports CTDs, someone saying the performance is bad over Tokyo and London (is that because your settings are too high since these are heavy autogen areas?).

Other people report stutters. There have always been stutters since the original release assuming the user means short stutters but the type is not always explained.

The reason I am reading this topic is I have done one flight in SU3 and approaching Sri Lanka I hit a massive endless stutter (slide show) that continued for 20mins until I gave up and shut the simulator down. The departure was fine and smooth and and destination was a runway more or less in the middle of nowhere so my pc should not be permanently struggling like this. What I can’t tell is whether this is what anyone here is reporting. So how Asobo can investigate these issues is probably half the battle they have.

I recommend everyone who is affected by this issue leave a 0 review at metacritic / any other review aggregator. The only way this will be fixed is if people outside of this heavily censored forum know about it.

In before the “Thanks for your feedback” and lock.

No way? Remember how long they took to fix those annoying spikes!

Yeah…9 bugs only and HOORAY that we have no spikes anymore :man_facepalming: (Austria)

Real world pilot here.
Bought the 1-month trial upon release & cancelled after 1 month.

My issues were mainly with inaccurate (terrible) “real” systems (GPS) and the vast amount of missing features that were essentially promised in all the marketing videos. Throw in things like the absence of a “visibility” setting and inaccurate nav database… too many things didn’t match up with all the hype.

Yes, for sure - it’s the most beautiful flight sim I’ve ever seen.

Tons of people on the forum have, since then, continuously scolded those of us who would suggest we should not have to be infinitely patient and/or wait for third parties to come to the rescue.

I come to the forum a few times a month to check in, and while I see lots of discussion about new partnerships, I can’t tell what effect they’re having.

What undelivered promises of all the videos that lead up to release have now been realized without third parties’ fixes or additions?

Yeah. I packed all my Flight Sim specific hardware away. Less temptation/frustration that way.

I’m at the end of a really good series of books… need to find another good series.

They’ve finally added the water masks last month that they’ve been using in their promo videos since last year showing beautiful beaches, reefs, etc in exotic locations. That’s pretty much it as far as I can tell.

Oh, I guess the navigation database has improved significantly as well from what I read, but personally I use Navigraph, so I can’t speak for that personally.

So not a whole lot, really. We got a lot of eye candy fluff to detract from lacking substance, a lot of new bugs, many of the big issues from launch (and the alpha and beta) are still here. GPS are still a hot mess that are a cartoonish caricature of what the real ones are.

A book for you to read if you can find it, its called Pilot Down Presumed Dead, and its about a pilot that if I remember correctly crashes on Baja Pensiula and his survival story. Now keep in mind I read this 50 years ago in school, so I was probably around 12. lol Also the reading level might be that of a 12 year old…but hey you bought this game so good fit no! :mask:

Looks like it’s still around, and newly re-issued to boot!

My heart burns for the people who don’t have financial resources to be wasting on this. I feel sorry for the kids/people who saved their pennies to buy this software or the hardware to be able to play this. Some people made sacrifices in their life to be able to afford an experience with msfs but are greeted with this level of performance and support.

I think about the 10 year old boy who I once was that saved cans and did extra chores to be able to afford fsx back in the day and the level of disappointment that person is expericing right now.

Asobo/Microsoft. We love you. Please help us out.
