So what's people's opinion on this from PMDG

Sure it would be nice to have a moving map in the window, but it creates zero problems and not more effort to fully program the 737 in the FMC only. Numbers of passengers (0), weight of cargo (15.000 to 25.000kg depending on if it´s the 700 or 800 freighter), everything is zero problem to type in. I do the same in the Fenix too
The Fenix EFB is used only to calculate the V-speeds most of the time, and I even use the cargo loadsheet in the MCDU for inserting Center of Gravity and weight.

Yes it kinda breaks the immersion that some values and numbers get implemented by “cheating” (pressing the button next to the V-speeds for example and these are getting filled in automatically, I would love to calculate these myself and manually insert these numbers).

And the following aspect I especially love about PMDG:
“We have a very relaxed working environment, but by nature of the fact that it is a 24/7 operation, we never really stop and take a break.”
(Not the typical faceless overlord-corporate-pigs standing there with a whip: “WORK WORK WORK!!! FASTER FASTER FASTER or you need to leave here and get another job, WORK WORK WORK you are here to WORK like a horse and not to create something special, WORK WORK WORK!!!” but PMDG seems to be a relaxed open-minded and progressive office. Work environments like this have gotten kinda rare since the new fascist era begun in US and Europe a few years ago.)

“Proving that no-good-deed-goes-unpunished, I then spent all of last week in bed due to some bacterial something or other in my lungs/throat/ear… Unpleasant. I don’t recommend.”
I recommend broadband-antibiotics, 1000-1500mg for at least a month. Ignoring it and waiting for the immune system to get rid of it probebly won´t make it better but can lead to permanent damage of internal body tissue.

“The 737 series is coming upon a few milestones in the weeks ahead. These involve the release of the PMDG 737-900 for MSFS, continued addition of new functionality including further flight model improvements, inclusion of our new PMDG Flight Tablet, some improvements to system logic, various bug fixes and general improvements around the 737 product line.”
Awesome to hear! But I hope the visuals and the eyecandy get some love and attention too because I really had to bugfix some nasty texture glitches for the 737 this summer.

“I have seen some of our newer PMDG customers wonder “why didn’t PMDG think of having an EFB?” For the benefit of those folks: We have given you many of these features in a very comprehensive EFB simulation within our 747-8, 777s and the 737NGXu within P3D. Those simulations carried versions of Boeing’s “standard EFB” which are clunky, sort of mid-90s tech that was popular briefly and then faded behind the dominance of iPad/Surface type devices.”
I kinda like time travelling when flying airplanes typical for the late seventies early to mid eighties era. Not everything must be 100% top-tier tech, and the Fenix also represents some airframe flown since 1991 or so (to be precise it has LCD screens and EIS 2, these cockpit features have been introduced in 2004.)
