Description of the issue:
“Woman in Mansonville” - SR mission impossible to complete. This is not a hoist mission and the missing person is between trees. The mission step makes you land in the trees. The closest spot to land is mile away - the trigger doesnt work if you land too far, id doesnt work if you hover over target, you can’t land because there are trees everywhere.
There are like 2-3 SR missions per day, so it is hard to progress further
I found a workaround. I was so annoyed that I tried landing as close as possible and then walk to the person. you trigger the cutscene to rescue them and then you can walk back or press ctrl + c and take off.
I have the exact same issue on two different missions in a row. I actually did manage to land and extract someone, although I was very clearly contacting trees (it just didn’t register). The problem then was, when I returned to the airport, it asked me to taxi to parking, and there was another tree right in the middle of the parking area. After fighting with the bug of no landing area for 45 minutes, it was really frustrating to finally feel like I was completing the mission, only to be forced to crash (there was no way to park without hitting that tree) resulting in lost reputation, not to mention the time spent. Now there are no more SAR missions available that I can see.
I managed to land between trees, it didn’t detect any collisions, also after a day more SR missions popped up.
Sometimes it works when you land nearby and walk to the target
mmmm well it’s not great. If you are doing any in the swiss alps it becomes impossible. Have attempted 10 today, 2 were actually in a place i could land and even one of them had the heli starting to skid down the mountain. Samedan seems ok but most other places are even on sheer cliff edges. I wouldn’t mind if I had the winch capability but I am working up towards it and need 10 or more completed runs.
I can’t find the people to rescue on my side. Was really quick on the first mission but no luck since then. Does it always have the orange smoke thing ? Is it really a small orang backpack that you are supposed to find ?
They always activate the orange flare, but only when you are somewhat close to them. Before that, they also flash a light at you, but that really only helps you if you’re looking more or less directly at them. These missions can be tricky and there were times when I thought the missing person just didn’t spawn, but I could always find them in the end.
Had the same problem the last few days, like every day.
Hikers in steep terrain and/or in forests with no place to land in a huge radius around them.
Found a spot at the shore of a lake, walked to the person, but the distance was too far away from the heli, so the mission failed.
Also had the same mission for several days and was able to do it daily, with the person on the same spot
Any news anywhere on whether this is being fixed or not? I just had to alt f4 out for the day because there’s nowhere to land. This is something that comes up if you simply try this mission out of the first scripted one, so it should have been noticed immediately in a test.
