[SOLVED] Fatal Error - Can't Create Screencopy Texture - Update 5

Since Update 5 I have had a few CTD’s. After the last CTD I cannot load the program anymore. I get a black window and the follow fatal error popup box. I have tried launching with community mods and also with an empty community folder.

I cannot find anything in Windows Event Viewer related to this. I spent all day yesterday updating and now I cannot even launch ir. It doesn’t even get to the loading screen.

Googling this issue does not reveal any clues or solutions. I don’t know if FS2020 keeps it’s own logs. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. My internet connection is only around 20Mbps so I really don’t want to have to reinstall.

I have the boxed version btw but obviously I would still have to redownload all the updates if I had to reinstall.

Any ideas?

Ok, I managed to solve this.

  1. Find UserCfg.Opt
  2. Rename it (UserCfg.Opt.bak)
  3. Run program (Program loaded! Yay!)
  4. Let the program look for updates
  5. Check installation path
  6. If path is wrong, change path to installation folder

Phew. Sorted.
