[Solved] Game Crashes CTD in menu

hello, the game crashes (CTD) every time I want to go to my general options, (my community folder is empty, my drivers are up to date, windows 10 is up to date, I already installed the game twice (I mean the basic game and the package is up to date, I have a “premium deluxe” version everything was working fine before I did the update 5.

Graphics card RTX2080
Intel(R) Core™ i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz

(I can start a flight, but I can’t go into the general options graphics settings etc…)

Microsoft Store version

Nine out of 10 times this is due to a mod. But if your folder is empty, not sure what’s going on.

Try deleting your content.xml file in your MSFS directory (not in community but here):

AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

It will rebuild once you relaunch the sim.

Completed the mandatory update, started MSFS2020 and after 3 mins the game closed and the screen went to my desktop. This happen 4 consecutive times. I was enjoying the sim until this… Very frustrating :enraged_face::face_with_symbols_on_mouth:
Everything worked fine, even great before this update.

yes I did all that, when you delete this folder, it’s the same, I just deleted again all the clean msfs content with the windows 10 uninstaller and it’s the same…???

I couldn’t get my thrustmaster quadrant to work now I am getting the CTD, WTF Asobo. I9 10850 GeForce 3070.

Problem solved with reinstallation of Windows 10

BRUH i will not reinstall my whole system just because of THAT

Yeah, it’s not worth that extreme move. This is ridiculous.

Constant CTD. We should not have to reinstall windows this must be fixed by Asobo/Microsoft. This is an absolute trash move on them for not testing this out.

Reinstalled windows and it did not work… not sure how this is a solution…

It is a solution…, I did not say that it was the final solution, each machine is different each user is different, but for me it worked, but there will be still way to improve this simulator…

Great solution my friend! Just reinstall! Only takes a week to setup everything back to the way I want to.

Solved! Game CTD every time I tried to enter general options. Solved by installing “English (USA)” language as system language with all the additional packages (speech recognition etc). Language in MSFS2020 still could be any. Now everything works like swiss clock!

you only need to install the English Lang Pack US , not set the whole system language to English :slight_smile:
