Some 2020 aircraft in 2024 out to lunch

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: DA40 performance is out to lunch. Takes off and lands at less than 40 knots, climbs like a rocket. Cessna 172 G1000 takes too much power to taxi, and can’t turn as well as 2020 version can. Also seems to take off too easily at 55 knots, climbing quite well. I believe a thorough review of 2020 converted aircraft is necessary.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: Tested DA40NG and C172 G1000

I noticed the da40 also has a more agressive climb than in 2020. I have only flown the 172 in real life so i cant compare the da40 to its real world specs. I will add that the da40 starts you in the back in vr and will put you in the backseat whenever you go into setting and come back. I just assumed that was because the sim is basically an alpha version. Hard to control both the 172 and da40 on the runway without rudder pedals. The differential braking is required for steering using rudder buttons or joystick twist doesnt seem to provide enough input to steer.

I’ll tell you, the DA40 in 2020 was excellent - made even better by the mods. Flew exactly like I expected it to (I flew a DA40-180 for my CPL hours). If a converted aircraft behaves like this from one sim to the other, Asobo really needs to have that awareness, because clearly they didn’t test this. It’s no simple ‘move it over’.

I’d be curious to transcribe the old 2020 version directly into 2024 without any conversion and see what happens.

The diamond da40 is my favorite aircraft for the sim because it has a stable stall profile the cirrus sr22 stalls too easily in the pattern at lower speeds with modest turns. The da40 also has the open view canopy and controls are easy with the velocity one flight stick. I hate having to attach my veloctiy one yoke to my desk when i fly in the 172.

• I’m having the same issues with the DA-40.

• It takes off on its own at very low speed also affects landing as well. Also, brakes work at take off but do not work upon landing.

Same thing happening on the G36 Bonanza. Just took off for the first time on career mode, and it too flew well before rotation speed, at which point it wanted to climb at 2200 fpm…even after I reduced power. On top of that, the screens don’t turn on until after the engine is started and the fuel pump switch is inop, but stays ‘on’ when you autostart. No Alt load, no Bus volts, no engine page…
