Even though Asobo said this patch would be light and the next one would be bigger, this patch notes looked pretty underwhelming to me.
But, you, I can import my old flight plans better now. ATC and the avionics would not load fixes they didn’t have in their database. This is bad considering a lot of fixes have disappeared.
I lose the names but at least the coords are there now. I do have names in the file, I wish they’d use them…
Now if it can just stop CTDing. I didn’t have a single crash until three days ago. Now they are every second flight or so. Always in menus thankfully, sigh.
Image: I prefer the fix names as per FS2020, but this is better than nothing.
Assuming you aren’t in America where the data is public domain, what VFR waypoints are you seeing in FS2024? If you can find one in Australia, I’d be very keen to know.
Having over the years writing tools for FS, including a flight planner and real-world flight planner to FS flight plan converters, I’m fairly familiar with the file format.
From fun to frustration, what caught my attention the most as a user was having the career mode, but with this update they have ruined it, the simulator does not start and closes, I suppose they will do this to fix the errors and hide the problems of the career mode from us, but wouldn’t it be more logical since those problems are there that we can enjoy it and not cap it?
They’re prioritizing Tobii devices over getting the sim to even perform. Seems like everything they put out or communicate since the launch is so completely out of touch that it reads like an advertisement for X-Plane.
Edit: Asobo undersold this patch. Seems they achieved a massive improvement in performance on Xbox Series S. I just managed my first flight on the 321!
