Some simple Logitech questions

I am a essentially a newbie ‘recreational’ user – purchased Logitech 3D Extreme Pro device and MS Flight Simulator in 2019 and did not use it much in the past five years. All activities are on a desktop Windows 11 system with a reasonable graphics card.

I wanted to try using again yesterday. Huge update process that installed MS Flight Simulator updates to version 1.38.2.0 – see question 1 below. Than I ran into some issues with the Logitech device and conflicting posts on this forum.

Question 1: Did the large update just update MSFS to the current status of MSFS 2020 with fixes or did it update the software to MSFS 2024? From what I read it probably only updated to MSFS 2020 level at some point. I cannot determine if this is standard or deluxe or premium or ??

Question 2: Apparently there will be a ‘free’ upgrade to MSFS 2024 sometime. If I upgrade will the Logitech 3D Extreme Pro device work with MSFS 2024?

Question #3: If the Logitech device does not work with MSFS 2024 or has many complicated work arounds then what would the current users recommend?

  1. Unless you paid for MSFS 2024, your MSFS 2020 will only update to the latest version of MSFS 2020.
  2. The Logitech 3D Extreme Pro works with MSFS 2024. I have one and it works fine.

Thank you CurrentFoil3744 for the clarification.

The posts and articles surrounding the MS 2024 release and its currently unstable status are difficult to separate from speculation and conjecture.

Being a modest recreational player, the purported new MS 2024 features are not as important as they might be to more advanced players.

I will continue with my current setup and not be concerned about MS 2024 until an obvious need arises.

Thank you for taking the time to assist.
