Lately, I’ve been in an extended process to get AIG Traffic Manager and Traffic Controller working with MSFS on my Windows PC. Yesterday, while at KDEN, I spent about 30 minutes using the drone camera to watch AIG’s AI planes move around the airport and the activity at runway 25. Here are some things that happened:
-
Several AI planes from different airlines lined up at runway 25 waiting to take off. The first plane in the line never moved, and about 5 minutes after arrival there, just disappeared. Immediately after that happened, the other planes moved up in position and again after 5 minutes the first plane in line disappeared. The line moved up again and the third plane continued onto the runway and took off normally. This behavior continued, with some more planes disappearing and others taking off.
-
While watching the planes lined up at runway 25, several AI planes approached and landed onto that runway. About half of them did touch and go’s. The other half remained on the runway and taxied to the end.
-
In the distance I saw some flashing lights, so I used the drone camera to move to where the lights were, which was several miles in the same direction and beyond the end of runway 25. I found three or four AI planes flying at full speed in the same 250 degree runway direction but at ground level (wheels mostly below ground level). They continued on in that direction, in a line one after the other, as long as I watched. I believe that these were the AI planes I had observed earlier that had made a full runway landing, as I never observed them turning off the runway.
It’s hard to know whether these anomalies are MSFS AI problems, or problems with the AIG flight plans or planes. (AI traffic was set to OFF within MSFS, as required by the AIG software.)
