Does anyone know how to disable the trailing effects that are seen when an object moves through the air?
I find it very off putting to see and I think it’s way over done anyway.
Thanks.

Don’t know of anyway to turn them off, with that said, there have been issues with how they are displayed.
Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Thanks DementedCorn
I’m not sure it would show easily in a screen shot, as it happens more with very distant moving objects, but seeing trails come off the back of birds flying is very unrealistic lol. I’ll try a screenshot when when I get the chance.
Sorry, are you saying you’re seeing “trails” coming off like flying birds? (not airplanes). If so, sounds like you are seeing the TAA Aliasing.
My bad, what I wrote wasn’t very clear. No, I’m saying I’m seeing trails coming from moving objects that pass though the air. I have a few of the birds add ons from South oak and seeing these trails coming from birds, makes them look like they are travelling at great speeds.
I don’t use TAA l, I use DLSS, but no matter what form of antialiasing I try, the trails are worse when the objects are at distance from my aircraft.
If I am not mistaken, the worst trailing effects are gone if you either turn off ambient occlusion totally or use only “low”. Some trailing, e.g. moving AI planes in front of clouds, will still remain, I guess it is a engine limitation and it is known from other games that have issues with objects using AA in front of clouds.
Thanks for that information. I will try to reduce AO and see if that helps.
Will be interested in your feedback. I use “low” now, because the visual difference between “off” and “low” is just to huge while the visual difference between “low” and “ultra” is somehow acceptable.
“Ultra” also leads to other unwanted effects like dark ghosing around landing gear tires.
Thank you for your suggestion. I’ve marked it as the solution in the absence of any way to disable the effect, as turning AO to low has really made a difference to the trails. They are still there, but at a much reduced intensity.
You’d have to raise the trail effects on birds with SouthOak - I also have this add-on. They’re pretty responsive with their product support so far.
I will. I’ve only just started using them again, as before when I first got them, they caused nasty stuttering on my rig and I quickly had to abandon them, but after recent attempts at tinkering with my system, I have them working now. The last time I spoke to them about that issue they seemed very approachable. Thanks.
