Anyone else wish that Asobo/Microsoft adds more information into the aircraft select screen in your hanger? You are shown the aircraft’s cruise speed, max altitude, endurance and range but I for one wish they would tell you what avionics package they have.
Yes, I’m talking 1st world problems here but given the time it takes to log into each plane it is irritating if you want to fly a G1000 and you end up looking at steam gauges (or vice versa) and have to go back to the main menu to select something else. The more planes I collect it is becoming ever more difficult to remember which is what.
It’s a bit late now to suggest it I guess but tomorrow I am going to have to create an Excel spreadsheet and spend hours logging in and out of the airframes on my PC.
One option is to select the plane you want, go back to the main menu, and then go into your hanger to look at the plane and change to cockpit view. It won’t lose any of your flight plan, so if it’s what you wanted you can then go back to world map and continue, or go back and select another plane. Bit cumbersome but avoids having to load a flight at least.
While I don’t care about knowing the avionics (I think I have most memorized and just use the GTN750 hand held anyway), I really wish they WOULD update stuff. My biggest peeve is that I can’t select favorite aircraft or deselect “I doubt I’ll fly this for months but don’t want to uninstall it” aircraft. My second biggest problem is that the flight details are inaccurate on most of them and wildly so on many. 3rd party aircraft are better, but some of them are pretty wonky too.
I have considered Sonicviz. It might solve one of my problems at least.
