Hi there everyone. So, I was flying in the TBM earlier and eas climbing over NY state. I was at as FL200 i had live traffic on, but not multi-player. I heard what sounded like a sonic boom followed by the plane shaking violently for 2 or 3 seconds. The “boom” was so loud that my wife, whom was in another room, asked me what that explosion was. Any thoughts or just some random anomaly in the sim?
and you didn’t just blow your engine? Don’t know about other planes, but if you blow the engine on the Kodiak 100 there will be an audible “boom” (nothing too crazy) and I would presume plane shaking if you were in flight. Just a thought.
I dont think i did, but wont rule it out since i had never experienced it before. Thats neat to know it does that. It was so loud compared to the rest of the sim volume.
There is a known bug, if you are flying near a A310 or a Jenny online, their engine noise (seemingly extra loud) will play over your own. This can be startling. And it might have been what you heard.
Without hearing what you heard, it is hard to say for sure. But that is the most common sound bug in sim. And switching from turboprop to extra loud jet might be what you heard.
Why the shake though? I’m wondering if it’s one of the weather bugs where the winds instantly change. One such way this happens is on the hour, you apparently get yesterday’s winds for two minutes before it switches back. If the winds are radically different it could knock the plane around quite a bit. The sound could be the flight controls getting knocked along with the wind/stress sounds.
