Specific Xbox controller and UI questions . .

Hi all,

I am really struggling with MSFS 2024 when using Xbox X and an Xbox controller. I’ve asked several questions with people giving me likes, but not any answers. So I’m trying a new thread with my specific questions.

  1. When setting up a free flight, the cursor is in the middle of the screen, but the right stick does not move it like in MSFS 2020. Is there any way to move the cursor in that screen with an Xbox controller?
  2. In MSFS 2020, LB+B sets a custom view and LB+Y goes to that view. What is the default way to do that now?
  3. Is there a way to make the instrument and control labels smaller? They seem larger than in MSFS 2020 and actually obscure the panel too much, in my opinion.
  4. Entering cursor mode in flight is requires pressing LB+menu (IIRC), is there a way to set that to be just pressing down on the left stick as before?

I’m usually pretty adaptable with new UI changes, but this change has turned out to be really hard for me. It is especially frustrating when there’s a cursor right in the middle of the screen and I can’t move it at all.

Does nobody use an Xbox controller for this game?

I found it wholly inadequate on Xbox so I got myself an Xbox HOTAS as well.
I wish you luck with it, but ‘controller only’ is a challenge.

Thanks for the response! Does the HOTAS help with the UI issues I posted above?

Hard to say. I rarely use cursor mode as the HOTAS combinations are more than plenty. I haven’t had an issue with it, but your needs may differ.
